Today is World Environment Day! 🌍

Beyond securing the next generation’s future through academics, we are pursuing a sustainability pathway through thoughtful, environmentally responsible building design.

Here are the ways the Building Hope Project seeks to integrate energy-conscious and sustainable features into our future school environment:

- Solar Energy Systems
- Energy-efficient Heating and Cooling Systems
- Carefully selected materials for floors, walls, ceilings, and façade elements that help reduce long-term energy consumption

As the world reflects on climate responsibility during World Environment Day 2026, the Building Hope Project sustainability initiatives seek to demonstrate how education, sustainability, and human responsibility can come together to shape a more resilient future.

With your support, we can help model practical ways to care for both people and the planet while securing a better future for coming generations.

Every year, our Drama 🎭 department organizes an annual trip to London, England 🇬🇧. For our students, it’s an opportunity to learn about drama and musical productions, both on and off the stage.

Our Drama Director, Ms. Fiscus, recalls the trip: Over February break, a group of ten high school students participated in the London Drama Trip. Students were able to view one play and three musicals, take a backstage tour of The National Theatre, and participate in an acting workshop about stage combat. There were also two Q&A sessions with cast members from Wicked and Hamilton, where students learned more about working in theatre.

At ICSV, we offer our students a variety of opportunities to cultivate learning outside the classroom and deepen their appreciation for each subject, whether it’s the Arts, Science, Social Studies, Languages, or more.

This school year’s school pep rallies are nothing short of school spirit 🦅! It’s a time when our entire school comes together to cheer 📣 on our athletes, pray for them 🙏🏽, and get excited for the upcoming sports games and championships. Students from Primary to Grade 12 also participate in competitions through various games and face off against our very own mascot, “Eli,” the eagle! But most of all, it’s an opportunity for community building, where staff members and students can feel the camaraderie of ICSV.

It’s been such an exciting time for Athletics, and here are a few of the many memories captured this year!

Spring After School Clubs have come to a close, but we can’t help but reminisce about all the fun, new skills and talents, and thriving community our students experienced this year. From our newest clubs, tennis , jiu jitsu, and netball, to our ongoing variety of clubs like climbing, chess, culinary arts, Spanish, and so much more.

We can’t wait for what’s in store next year!

Until then, here are a few snapshots of some of the clubs from this year’s After School Club.

We know that the transition from Elementary to Middle School can be a lot to handle. So here at ICSV, we have a yearly Middle School Shadow Day. It’s an immersive day where our 5th graders experience a day in the life of a Middle Schooler by pairing up with a 6th grader. They take part in core classes, navigate switching classes system, and experience lunch in middle school. It’s a great way for our 5th graders to know what to expect in the coming year.

We also know that it’s a shift for our parents as well. Every year, our Elementary and Secondary principals host a “Parent Night” dedicated to the transition from Grade 5 to Middle School. This evening helps inform and equip parents with information on schedules and classrooms, curriculum, and how to support and prepare their child during this time.

Our hope is that ICSV would be a place where every student thrives, and our desire is to be an international school of choice where every student feels valued and empowered with truth and knowledge for life.

What makes the teachers at ICSV exceptional? Their desire for every student to thrive and their love for the subjects they teach.

When asked about the new building, our teachers immediately focus on its impact on students.

“All students will have a better learning environment with the additional space the new building will provide. They will have more flexibility of movement and seating in larger classrooms. In my experience, the more students move, the better the learning outcomes,” says Mrs. Hayley Mecheski, English Teacher.

Through the Building Hope Project, we are expanding opportunities for 21st-century learners with innovative tools, collaborative spaces, and programs designed to help students flourish, academically, personally, and spiritually.

Our gift matching challenge is open until June 30th. Any donation or pledge will be doubled!

Our Secondary Science Club, led by Ms. Baldovska, recently participated in this year’s Vienna International Science & Engineering Fair.

The 2026 Vienna International Science and Engineering Fair was another great success. Among 90 projects with approximately 145 students in attendance representing over 20 schools, ICSV was represented by 3 successful teams and 7 participating students.

Congratulations to our students!

Junior Division

“How Ferrofluids Can Help to Clean Water from Microplastics” by Aleen A. (Grade 7) and Praharshini K. (Grade 6) received a red ribbon (3rd place) and nomination for the Imagine Award

Senior Division

“Can Kombucha Replace Plastics?” by Seleen A., Linga K., and Nana A-K. (Grade 9) received a blue ribbon (2nd place) and nomination for the Difference Makers Award

“Bioluminescent Bacteria for a Sustainable Future” by Jakub H. and Kirsten K. (Grade 10) received a gold ribbon (1st place)

It was a valuable experience for all of them. Working on their science projects, meeting and getting feedback from qualified judges, and seeing other projects of their peers.

Visual Arts are an important part of our everyday life. It helps us understand the world, discover our place in it, and challenge ourselves to see how we live as individuals and as a whole within society.

Every year, we look forward to our IB Visual Arts Exhibition. The visual arts course inspires students to test their own creativity, artistic assumptions, and limits. Students cultivate analytical skills in critical and diverse thinking to become specialized, skillful, and confident artists.

This year, we had a variety of topics students studied, from explorations of dreams, cultural heritage, and war, to the social constructs of ugliness and beauty, to name a few. Students used a wide range of materials, including glass, oil and acrylic paint, pen, and charcoal.

We’re so proud of our students’ hard work and growth throughout this IB Visual Arts course.
