🌱 Future changemakers in action!

On Tuesday, our G11 students attended the Austrian World Summit, where they explored innovative solutions to some of the world's biggest environmental challenges. Hearing directly from entrepreneurs, scientists, activists, and business leaders gave students a unique perspective on how ideas can become impactful action.

We're proud of our students for engaging thoughtfully with these important global issues and representing our school so well.

From the first whistle to the final cheer, yesterday our G3 to G5 students showed incredible energy, determination, teamwork, and school spirit throughout the Sports Day. Whether running, throwing, kicking, pulling, or cheering on their classmates, every student played a part in creating a memorable celebration of sport and community.

Congratulations to all of our students for embracing the challenges, supporting one another, and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship. The smiles, effort, and excitement on display were what made the day truly special.

🌈 As Vienna celebrates Pride this weekend, we're proud of the ways our VIS community came together throughout the week to celebrate inclusion, allyship, and belonging.

From Pride stickers and fundraising efforts (all funds went to QueerBase) to messages of affirmation and support, students and staff helped create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected.

🎶 When voices come together, something special happens. 🎵

Wednesday's VIS Sings Concert was more than a performance—it was a celebration of growth, courage, friendship, and the joy of making music together. As we marked Mental Health Awareness Month, our students demonstrated how singing can bring people together, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging.

A huge bravo to the Grade 9 Men’s Choir on their debut performance and to every singer who shared their voice with us.

What a wonderful way to end the year in song. 💙

🎓 Exploring the future, Building profile, Applying with confidence

The past two weeks, our University & Careers Counsellors organized two fantastic opportunities for students interested in studying in Austria.

🍽️ Lunch & Learn with the ÖH (Austrian Students' Union), Students & parents gained practical advice on university choices, admissions, student life, financial support, and much more.

🏫 We then welcomed students and parents to the annual VIS Austrian University Fair, where they met university representatives, explored study options, and learned first-hand about life at Austrian universities.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped our students take the next step in planning their academic futures!

🎭🎨🎶 This week, our Grade 3 students proudly celebrated their Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves: Arts and Artists!

Families and friends were treated to a wonderful exhibition of student artwork and a special performance showcasing the creative talents of our young artists through Art, Music, and Drama.

Inspired by the timeless works of Shakespeare, each class brought a unique story to life. Through their performances, students demonstrated creativity, collaboration, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the arts. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the joy they brought to the stage.

What a fantastic way to celebrate an unforgettable sporting year at our All-Year Sports Awards Ceremony 2025/26.

From championship moments and personal bests to teamwork, resilience, leadership, and school spirit, today’s event recognized the athletes, coaches, and students who helped make this season so special.

Our ELC to Grade 2 students enjoyed a morning filled with energy, teamwork, and fun as they rotated through a variety of exciting sports and activity stations. From running and jumping to throwing, balancing, and team challenges, every student had the opportunity to showcase their skills, determination, and sportsmanship.

A huge thank you to our staff, Grade 5 helpers, and families for making the day such a success. The smiles, cheers, and enthusiasm on display were a wonderful reminder that sport is about participation, confidence, and enjoying movement together.

This morning, we welcomed staff with a small sweet treat to kick off a week dedicated to celebrating the people who make VIS such a special place.

At VIS, our greatest strength is our people. Every day, our staff bring care, dedication, professionalism, creativity, patience, and kindness to our community, creating an environment where students feel supported, inspired, and valued.

This week is an opportunity to celebrate and thank every member of our team, whether in classrooms, offices, operations, student services, facilities, leadership, administration, or behind the scenes. Your contributions, both seen and unseen, make an extraordinary difference to the lives of our students and to the strength of our school community. Thank you for the early mornings, the long hours, the unwavering commitment, and the countless ways you go above and beyond each day. We are deeply grateful for all that you do.

🌿🐞 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🐛🌱

Today, our Grade Primary students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Bisamberg, where they had the opportunity to put into practice the skills they have been learning in our Eco Lab.

Armed with tweezers and observation containers, the students carefully explored the natural environment, catching and observing a variety of small living creatures. They practiced identifying different species and classifying them into categories, while gaining a deeper understanding of biodiversity and ecosystems.

Most importantly, they learned how to respect nature and protect the habitats of the animals they encountered, reinforcing the values of environmental stewardship and responsible exploration.
