While some claim that we have never been modern (alluding to Bruno Latour), others assume that we entered a state of late modernism, believe that we are still in postmodernity or fall in line with Ulrich Beck´s concept of a second modernity.
The spirit of modernism and its discourse-shaping impact and after-effects on the state of contemporary art as well as the noticeable echo of the artistic avant-garde are the central motifs of our inquiry into the ontological foundation and current relevance of the term through an open interpretation of the various dispositifs. Buster Keaton's cinematic work serves as a backdrop for this examination, in which the excessive use of technical devices and mechanized processes apodictically anticipates three aspects of our present: the existential inevitability of failure, the post-humanistic ecology of things and the concomitant shifts in the authority of sematic interpretation, as well as the radical questioning of the teleological horizon of meaning.

Constellation
In response to the competition brief our proposal aims to envision the future development of an environment that local inhabitants share every summer with tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world. In its current form, the area is a telling example for the failure of creating fake cultural identities for the sake of generic experiences, entirely disconnected from the reality of local populations. Against this background, our strategy is based on the systematic and meticulous investigation of local qualities, the constituent elements of which we then assembled into a "constellation" of dynamic spaces and experiences. This playful staging of local qualities is reflected by the needs and habits of the local population and allows for permanent change and further development.

Constellation
For us, finding concrete design answers to the competition's task was linked to the question of how the inhabitants of the communities around Lake Klopeinersee envision the future development of a living space that they share during the summer months with tens of thousands of guests from all over the world. The current appearance of the region is an example of the generic manifestation of a cultural identity that has never existed in this form.
The development of the touristic offer is based on an anticipated expectation that has become largely disconnected from the reality of life of the local population. Against this background, our strategy is based on the systematic and meticulous recording of the existing context, whose constituent elements we assemble into a "constellation" of a dynamic space of experience. This space becomes the easygoing staging of local quality of life, which is supported by the local population and allows for permanent change and further development.

Metzler naturhautnah in Egg shows exhibits from the collection of the vorarlberg museum in a three-part exhibition series.
The implementation of the project was preceded by several hours of tours through the museum's study collection, during which Metzler's more than 30 employees selected the objects that would now be presented in their own working environment.
The unusual staff portrait is at the same time a showcase into the extensive and wide-ranging collection holdings of a museum that has been collecting, preserving, researching and making publicly accessible the evidence of art and culture in Vorarlberg for more than 150 years.
We developed this exhibition format together with the Vorarlberg museum and specially adapted to the premises of the company.
The exhibitions have been conceived in such a way that each edition of the three-part cycle represents the range of the selected exhibits in a balanced way. The first cycle started in September 2018 and the second in September 2019; the third one is to start 2023.
The title of the cooperative project is a reference to the sculpture Hausgeist by Tone Fink from 1981/82.

Greetings from Vorarlberg !
For the opening of the travelling exhibition “Getting Things Done” in Halifax, Canada, we created these postcards as gifts for visitors.
The postcards show motifs from the archives of the Vorarlberg Museum, all of which allude to the natural phenomenon of snow as a unifying commonality between Vorarlberg and Canada.
Based on a selection of 5 to 7 photographs, a crisp typographic staging conveys greetings from the Ländle that get to the heart of what unites them in a witty and charming way.
