The list of applicants will be published on the 12th of May and the community will be able to submit feedback on candidates until the 9th of June. The final DCAs of Vienna EUDC 2027 will be published on June 30th. Exciting!

We are excited to announce that Teymour Aldridge is joining our team! Here are a few words from our new Tab co-director:

"EUDC is an incredible gathering of the European debating community: it is a privilege to join the Vienna tab team, and to get to work with such an experienced and capable organising committee.

The tabulation software we have available today has some room for improvement, and I am excited to work on this in the run up to EUDC 2027. It is my hope that we can improve the reliability, safety and ease of use of the tools available to us.

Dear debating community,

In response to a significant number of extension requests, we have decided to extend the deadline for DCA applications for Vienna EUDC until the 10th of May, 23:59 CEST.

Candidates who have already submitted an application will have the chance to submit a new, revised application if they so desire by the deadline.

As a result, our community feedback period will instead begin on the 12th of May and end on the 9th of June.

1. Registration fee (€500) and possible reduction:
We recognise that €500 is a substantial cost for some participants and are actively working to push the projected 11% increase down through negotiations and sponsorship. We can’t yet guarantee a reduction, but we can guarantee that the fee will not exceed €500 per participant.

2. Socials details and socials budget
We will publish detailed socials information once themes and venues are contractually confirmed, to ensure what we advertise matches what we deliver. The socials budget is set in light of prioritising accommodation, food, transport, and venues, and is supported by Vienna’s relatively favourable venue deals, sponsorship work, and a large, experienced socials team.

3. Food budget and breakfast
Breakfast is included in the hotel rate (buffet breakfast for all participants), which is why it does not appear as a separate budget line. All participants will receive an lunch and dinner on inround days. In line with recent EUDCs, we plan to serve lunches on outrounds days, with dinners added where venue deals or additional budget allow. We additionally have a dedicated budget (and sponsorship) for snacks and drinks during the competition.

4. IA subsidy
Following feedback, we have increased IA travel subsidies so that, on average, 1 IA per room of the competition will receive approximately €290–320 in support, depending on final size of the compeition. Vienna’s strong transportation connections, central european location, and budget travel options are intended to make this level of subsidy meaningful.
