Want to know what happened to ExperiMotion4, our combination of pixilation (a sub genre of stop motion) and VR?
It got splatted! Using Gaussian Splatting, a 3D object was created out of the 35 images taken of the subject, displayed by hundreds of AI-optimated, small, volumetric blobs (Gaussians). Stacking the 3D objects in time one after another creates a pixilation animation, that can be viewed in a VR space. 🖥️✨

🔬🌟 We had an amazing day at the Forschungsfest Niederösterreich 2025! On Oktober 10, 2025, we opened the doors to our world of research and showcased parts of .

Spectators of all ages got to experience firsthand how VR can transport us into fascinating virtual worlds.

Our researchers presented the current status of , where Pixilation - stop-motion animation with humans - was turned into 3D with the use of Gaussian Splatting and put into VR.
