Prost, Mozart! 🍻

Happy birthday, Carl Thomas Mozart! 🎉

He was Wolfgang Amadé and Constanze Mozart’s second son.

He would become one of only two Mozart children to reach adulthood and later help preserve his father’s legacy by donating precious family treasures to Salzburg, including Mozart’s original fortepiano. 🎹🎶

Mozart’s son was an accomplished pianist, taught children from aristocratic families, and was an important figure in Milan’s musical life. He was particularly dedicated to preserving his father’s legacy. 🎶🎹✨️

On the occasion of the Mozart centenary celebrations in 1856, Carl Thomas Mozart bequeathed to the Mozarteum in Salzburg, among other things, Mozart’s original fortepiano and part of the valuable family correspondence. Family portraits were added to the collection at a later date. 🎶✨️🙏

He would become one of only two Mozart children to reach adulthood and later help preserve his father’s legacy by donating precious family treasures to Salzburg, including Mozart’s original fortepiano 🎹🙏 Today it is part of the Mozart Museums in Salzburg and played on special occasions!🎶
