Because KIIS is a non-profit organization, program costs are significantly lower than other summer study music program. The program cost includes the 6 undergraduate or graduate credits, room and board (two meals a day) and insurance. This year the cost is $4,495. Students who apply before December 1st receive a $100 discount. Most students who are eligible for normal financial aid at their home institutions are able to apply that money toward summer study.

About the program:
https://www.kiis.org/programs/salzburg/
The KIIS summer program in Salzburg, Austria has offered students a unique opportunity to study, practice, and perform since 1990. Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart, home to the prestigious Mozarteum conservatory, and the site of the world-famous Salzburg Music Festival.
The KIIS Salzburg program consists of a five-week curriculum oriented toward majors in the performing arts. Each student earns from 3 to 6 credits toward his or her music degree, transferable to their home university through Western Kentucky University. All instruction is in English.
Workshops in disciplines such as Alexander Technique, vocal performance, and a special 4-day advanced conducting seminar are also part of the curriculum. Students may also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular choral and instrumental ensembles as part of their Salzburg study abroad experience. KIIS students enjoy the added benefit of free admission to master classes, recitals, stage productions, and concerts at the Mozarteum, one of Europeโs most prestigious conservatories. The full list of class offerings is below. Full course descriptions will soon be available at http://www.kiis.org/go/SalzburgCourses.php
The city of Salzburg has an incredible cultural life. It is home to 3 universities, 8 professional theatre companies, a professional symphony orchestra, a professional wind ensemble, a professional opera company, a professional ballet, and a world-class opera festival. In addition to scores of professional performance venues, there are more than 20 major churches in the city proper that offer constant performances to the public throughout the week (the majority of which are free.)
Salzburg is ideally situated for independent weekend travel within Austria and beyond. Vienna, Munich, Venice, Prague and Graz are just several of the major European cities within reach by train. In addition, a four-day weekend is scheduled into the curriculum to allow for travel to further cultural destinations, including Paris.
Because KIIS is a non-profit organization, program costs are significantly lower than other summer study music program. The program cost includes the 6 undergraduate credits, room and board (two meals a day) and insurance. This year the cost is $4,495. Students who apply before December 1st receive a $100 discount. Most students who are eligible for normal financial aid at their home institutions are able to apply that money toward summer study.
