Day 14 – Time to Say Goodbye🫂

“How lucky are we to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

I cannot believe I’m already writing this again. It feels like just yesterday that everyone arrived and got to know each other. But somehow, these two weeks have flown by so fast, and now it’s over again.

From what I can tell, you’ve made so many great memories, had plenty of good laughs, learned so many new things and discovered so many new places in that time. And most importantly, you’ve made lifelong friendships and formed bonds with each other.

And even though it’s the day I dread most here in Benenden (and the only one I dread, haha), it was still so beautiful to see all of you saying your goodbyes and being so sad to leave. Because it truly is such a special time, and I wish each and every single one of you all the best. I hope I’ll see you again next year! 👋🏼🤍

day 13 – Brighton, Beachy Head & Fête Blanche party 🌊🤍

Today, everyone headed to Brighton! There was something for everyone: exploring the Brighton Sealife, visiting the Royal Pavilion, taking in the views from the i360 or putting their teamwork to the test in an Escape Room. After the activities, everyone had some free time to explore Brighton, wander through the cute little streets, head down to the beach or, of course, do some more shopping. 🛍️

Next stop: Beachy Head! 🌊 We hopped off the buses to take in the breathtaking cliffs and the incredible views across the sea before heading back home in time for dinner and getting ready for our last big night together.

Before the party, we all met in the theatre to enjoy some amazing dance performances, the film created by the Film Class and the Musical Team’s show — which, naturally, came with a lot of adverts. 😅

And then it was time for Fête Blanche! 🤍 One last night of dancing, laughing and making memories together before tomorrow brings us to our final day. 🥹

Day 11 – classes, workshops & tournaments 🏆

Today started with classes and lots of preparation for the final presentations! Everyone was busy practising their presentations and working on their spoken English before the big moment.

Afterwards, everyone took part in their workshops before heading off to a variety of activities. We also managed to squeeze in some class photos 📸— which we’ll be sharing soon, so keep an eye out!

The afternoon got competitive with both the Soccer and Tennis Tournaments. ⚽️🎾 The Soccer Tournament decided which team would face the Staff in tonight’s showdown… and let’s just say the Staff weren’t planning on giving up their winning streak anytime soon. Both teams gave it their best, but Staff came out on top in both matches!

And because one competition clearly wasn’t enough, we finished the evening with Capture the Flag. The final score was 1–1! 🏳️

Now it’s time to get some well-deserved sleep — because tomorrow we’re off to Brighton! 🌊☀️

day 10 – london, trips & a little free time 🇬🇧✨

Yesterday, all the Benendonians headed to London for a day full of exciting trips! From Totoro, Wicked and Oliver to the London Eye, London Dungeon, FC Chelsea, Madame Tussauds and Crystal Maze – there was something for everyone. 🎭🎢⚽️

Everyone also got some free time to explore London, do a bit of sightseeing and, of course, maybe squeeze in some shopping. 🛍️

After a long day out and about in London, it was time for dinner and some well-deserved rest – because the tournaments were waiting for us the next day! 🏆🔥

day 10 – classes, workshops & the legend of Kitty Fisher 👻

All year groups had lessons today and worked on their English skills… but somehow, something about today just felt a little strange. 👀

While everyone was busy with classes, the Activity Team kept things moving with plenty of sport and activities, and the students got stuck into their workshops. Everything seemed completely normal… or so we thought. 🤨

Then, at dinner, a mysterious woman in a dress appeared with an equally mysterious-looking man. No one really knew who they were or what was going on… 👻

After dinner, we all headed to the theatre, where we were introduced to the legend of Kitty Fisher. And then, naturally, we went into the woods to investigate for ourselves. 🌲🔦

Let’s just say… we saw some very strange things out there. 👀

And with that… everyone went back to bed.

day 9 – classes, London and Minion Party 💛

Today, the juniors went to classes and had a fun and sporty afternoon taking part in their workshops and activities – playing games, tennis, baking, dancing and even putting on a fashion show! 💃🏼

Meanwhile, the junior high and seniors headed to London, where they got to choose between different exciting trips. Some visited the London Eye, others explored the Olympic Park and went on the longest tunnel slide in the world, some went to the Chelsea Stadium, Thorpe Park, Madame Tussauds or the Tower of London. 🇬🇧

They also got some free time to explore London on their own, before heading back for an exciting evening at the Minion Party! 🥳

And judging by all the yellow and blue outfits… I almost thought I was in the Minions movie! 😅

Day 8 – London & Crown Games 👑🇬🇧

Today, the junior high and seniors headed to Benenden School to study some more, while the juniors went to London!!! They visited the London Eye, Tower of London, the Olympic slide, Madame Tussauds and more.

After an exciting day, everyone met in the theatre to continue the Crown Games and try to earn some more points. Throwing teabags with your mouth, trying to eat sweets hanging from a string, guessing songs and throwing hats onto your partner’s head – you really couldn’t have practised for these games! 😅

But you did brilliantly! For now, Echingham is in the lead… 👀👑

Day 7 – Classes, workshops, trips & karaoke 🎤

The Benendonians started their day with classes again, while the juniors headed off on some exciting trips, including Laser Tag, Ninja Warrior and the Eastbourne Air Show. ✈️

Meanwhile, the junior highs and seniors took part in their workshops and spent their free time getting involved in different activities. You guys are definitely a sporty bunch! 💪🏼🏃🏼‍♀️⚽️

But the real highlight of the day came after dinner… one of the Benendonians’ favourite nights: KARAOKE! 🎤🕺🏼

From classic hits to absolute bangers, you guys definitely have some great music taste! 👏🏼🎶

Day 6 – Classes, trips & Crown Games 👑

The Benendonians started their day with classes again, while the juniors headed off to their workshops. Meanwhile, the junior highs and seniors had an action-packed afternoon with laser tag and Ninja Warrior, while others enjoyed a visit to Hever Castle or the Eastbourne Air Show. ✈️

After dinner, everyone gathered in the theatre to find out which house they belong to… 👀

Now the real challenge begins. Are you ready to fight for your house, earn those points and find out which house will come out on top? 🏆
