Here’s something a little different today. This beautiful Toscana folding bike from the ‚70s. The color is very reminiscent of the famous Legnano green. This classic from Italy is simply wonderful.

On my last ride on the Gartner Select, I noticed how much easier on the back a slightly larger frame is. That’s why I rebuilt my newest RIH, from 1984, yesterday. Today, in gorgeous weather, I took it out for its first ride, and my back is thrilled.

I received the bike I rode on my birthday ride today as a gift last week. It’s a Viennese mechanic’s bike made by Gartner Select. It wasn’t in very good condition, and the seatpost was completely rusted shut. But after a little work and replacing a few parts, I was able to ride it for the first time today. Even though the frame is actually a little too big for me, it was still fun, and the riding position is good for my back.

The Cinelli Volare SLX—a saddle I’ve wanted for a long time. Today, I was given an old road bike that had this very saddle installed on it. Now I’m really looking forward to mounting this beautiful saddle on one of my bikes.

Yesterday, I unexpectedly came across this old Puch bicycle. It’s a Puch Model IV touring bike from 1934. That makes it the oldest bicycle I own. Aside from the missing wheels, it appears to be complete and in relatively good condition. Today I gave it a rough cleaning. Thanks again to Walter Ulreich for his help in identifying the model and year of manufacture.

A Sunday morning run with temperatures that were still quite pleasant. I’ve also found a new favorite subject—I love these old Volvo station wagons.

It took a little longer than expected, but today Eddy was finally able to hit the road again. The weather was gorgeous and there wasn’t much traffic on this holiday—it was simply wonderful. On the way back, I passed this beautiful Volvo 245.

I set out today at 7 a.m., even before breakfast, on my newly assembled KTM Strada SR. I have to say, after the extreme temperatures of the past few days, I was almost shivering today. But it was really pleasant, and the bike rides great—I’m truly thrilled. The beautiful red looks even more intense in the sunshine; it’s every bit as good as the famous Saronni red. What a way to start Sunday

If you have family ties to Upper Austria, it’s practically a must to have at least one KTM bike in your collection. In my case, it’s this rather rare Strada SR with a frame from the Italian manufacturer C. B.T. Italia. I’d describe the color as Saronni red—at least it’s very similar. I finished rebuilding it yesterday and have already taken it for a short spin around the neighborhood. It’s supposed to get a bit cooler in the coming days, so I’m already looking forward to my first real ride.

Today, Eddy got a new tire installed, and now he’s ready for his first ride. I think he’ll be ready to go in the next few days.
