More and more young people are confronted with topics on the Internet that play down risky trends and call for imitation. According to the "EU Kids Online" 2019 study, minors in Germany have already had experience with offers relating to the use of drugs or have come across offers that deal with how to commit su***de.

😀We are pleased to announce that the Erasmus Plus project PREVENTION OF YOUTH RISKY VIRAL TRENDS has been approved.
Within the framework of this project, topics such as:
👉coping with the digital transformation through the development of digital resilience and digital competence
👉the professionalization of youth work
👉promoting active citizenship, young people's sense of initiative and young people's entrepreneurship - including social entrepreneurship
The needs we aim to address with the implementation of the project are:
👉the need to improve the risk prevention skills of youth workers so that they can advise and support young people on the use of social networks and questions on topics such as:
🔸cyberbullying
🔸following dangerous viral trends on TikTok
🔸Fake news, Internet addiction
🔸dangerous encounters with strangers
🔸theft of personal information
🔸social isolation
🔸reduced mental well-being in the form of generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, etc.
👉the need to learn and apply innovative digital security methodologies, tools and practices;
👉the need to develop quality youth worker skills to promote media literacy, social inclusion, young people's entrepreneurship, democracy, active citizenship and non-violent communication;
👉the need to raise awareness of the risks of social networks and improve the prevention of dangerous online encounters;
👉the need to improve the quality and image of youth work. Youth workers need updated knowledge at European level on how to teach young people to prevent risks on social networks (including cyberbullying, spreading and believing disinformation) and develop critical thinking to be able to make informed decisions.
