Offshore drilling platforms (ships) are generally equipped with a set of oil testing equipment, including furnaces, separators, burners, air compressors, manifolds, metering tanks, and related measuring instruments.
Oil from the wellhead first flows into the oil manifold and choke manifold, then into the heating furnace to be heated via a ground testing tree (testing Christmas tree) and safety valve. After heating, the crude oil flows into a three-phase separator for the separation of oil, gas, and water.
The separated water is let into the sea after being processed; the separated gas is transferred through the blowing fan into the two burners for burning; the separated oil is measured in the metering tank. If it can’t be output, it will be pumped into the two burners to be burned.
