🏛️🌍 We are pleased to welcome participants from across Europe and beyond to the ᴄᴜʟᴛᴜʀᴀʟ ʜᴇʀɪᴛᴀɢᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴛᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ ᴄᴏᴜʀsᴇ 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟼 at the Universität für Weiterbildung Krems. Organized under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) and in cooperation with the Centre for International Stabilisation Measures, Verification and Arms Control and the Amt für Kultur Liechtenstein, the course brings together experts from the fields of cultural heritage, security, defence, emergency response, and academia.

This week’s programme covers topics such as legal frameworks for cultural property protection, NATO and OSCE perspectives, human security, cultural heritage monitoring, cultural and military diplomacy, international missions, and heritage protection in armed conflict.

Through expert lectures, discussions, and a practical crisis exercise, participants exchange knowledge, share experiences, and gain valuable insights into protecting cultural heritage in times of crisis and conflict.

📢 Call for Papers – CHNT31 in Vienna

We are pleased to announce that we are organising a dedicated session at the International Conference on Cultural Heritage and New Technologies (CHNT31), taking place from 11–13 November 2026 at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.

🎯 Our session is entitled:

New tools for protecting cultural and natural heritage 🌍

The INACO project is entering its final phase – bringing two new digital applications to support climate risk management:

🔧 CNH Care App → assesses the vulnerability of cultural and natural heritage sites
🗺️ Risk Mapping Tool → visualizes climate trends across Central Europe

Both tools help to better understand risks and to plan targeted protection measures.

🇦🇹👨‍🏫🏛 On 5 November 2025, the Center for Cultural Property Protection (University for Continuing Education Krems) hosted an expert and networking meeting on Roman heritage in the Danube region. Organized within the ROMAN LEGACY project and its synergy project Roman Trails (Interreg AT-CZ), the event gathered specialists in monument preservation, tourism, research, and cultural management from across Austria. It underscored the importance of the Roman Danube Limes – part of the UNESCO World Heritage “Frontiers of the Roman Empire” – and explored the fascinating narrative of Roman presence north of the Danube.
