Humans are rhythmic beings, not productivity machines.
And yet, most business cultures are still built around linear output:
more meetings, faster replies, tighter deadlines, constant availability.
Ayurveda offers a different lens.
It doesn’t ask: How can we push people harder?
It asks: What conditions allow people to function well, communicate clearly, recover properly, and stay in rhythm?
That’s why Ayurveda belongs in business conversations.
Not as incense-and-herbal-tea fluff.
But as a 5000-year-old intelligence system for understanding energy, stress, rhythm, digestion, sleep, focus, leadership and human behaviour.
This is why I think Ayurveda belongs in business conversations.
McKinsey Health Institute notes that work has a “profound impact on our holistic health” — and that positive work experiences are linked with lower burnout and better employee performance.
Ayurveda has been saying something beautifully similar for thousands of years:
The state of the human system matters.
Seasonal rythm matters.
Regulation matters.
Recovery matters.
The conditions around people matter.
Because business is not powered by productivity hacks.
It is powered by people.
And honestly?
Which business doesn't need that?
