🌲 Forestry training meets sustainability 🌿
The second group of students from the Forestry School Bruck an der Mur (Austria) had the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the Botanical Garden in Bečov (Czech Republic, near Karlovy Vary) – directly connected to their forestry training.

The activities reflected real tasks that are part of professional forestry work:
🪓 Wood harvesting and sustainable use of resources:
Students felled old trees, processed the wood and built a wooden bridge for a future sports and nature event using the timber they harvested themselves.

🌱 Habitat and landscape management:
As part of their forestry and nature conservation training, they cleaned and maintained willow areas that are home to rare butterfly species, helping to protect biodiversity.
🚶 Maintenance of nature and tourism trails:
The students improved tourist paths and nature trails – a typical task in forest and landscape management.

🪑 Infrastructure in natural areas:
They also installed furniture and small facilities in the botanical garden, supporting environmental education and sustainable visitor management.
These activities show how diverse forestry training can be – combining wood management, nature conservation, biodiversity protection and sustainable landscape development. 🌍💚

At Porvenir in Tenerife, we recently welcomed our first group of participants who helped start the revitalisation of this special place.

Over the past days, everyone worked together, learned together and built something meaningful:
preparing land, caring for trees, planting new vegetation and developing ideas on how this space can grow into a living environment for sustainability, biodiversity and practical environmental learning.

What is starting here is more than a project.
It is a vision: a place where young people from different countries come together, exchange knowledge and actively contribute to environmental and climate protection initiatives.

A big thank you to all participants and partners who made this first step possible. Your motivation and energy have laid the foundation for Porvenir to continue growing.

During our preparatory visit to Gran Canaria, we were able to establish new European partner organisations for Erasmus+ internships in the fields of forestry and food & nutrition.
Our goal is to offer students hands-on learning experiences that address sustainability, climate action, and responsible resource management in Europe.

🌳 Foresta
Foresta is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the restoration and protection of forest ecosystems on Gran Canaria.
For students, this means:
* Participation in EU-relevant environmental projects
* Practical understanding of biodiversity, soil protection, and climate adaptation
* Learning by doing instead of learning only in theory

☕ Café Ortega – from bean to value chain
At Café Ortega, students gain insight into the European perspective on sustainable food production:

* Processing, quality standards, and origin of raw materials
* Sustainable supply chains and corporate responsibility

Vom 04.03.2026 bis 18.03.2026 organisieren wir eine Erasmus+ Begleitmaßnahme im Bereich Gartenbau. Der Abflug ab Wien am 04.03.2026 ist fix, die Aufenthaltsdauer kann – je nach Bedarf der Einrichtung – auch kürzer gestaltet werden.

Im Fokus stehen:
• nachhaltige Bewirtschaftung
• Biodiversität & ökologische Pflegekonzepte
• praktische Arbeit im Garten- und Landschaftsbau
• fachlicher Austausch für Ausbilder:innen und Lehrkräfte

Diese Begleitmaßnahme richtet sich an Lehrlingsausbilder:innen, Fachlehrkräfte und Verantwortliche im Gartenbau, die internationale Perspektiven mit konkreter Praxis verbinden möchten. Erasmus+ gefördert, organisatorisch vollständig begleitet.

Im letzten Jahr haben engagierte Persönlichkeiten aus allen Programmbereichen als Erasmus+ Botschafter/innen gezeigt, wie viel Wirkung das Programm entfalten kann. Mit Herzblut, Erfahrung und Einsatz haben sie ihre Geschichten geteilt und andere inspiriert. 🏆

Jetzt sind wir wieder auf der Suche: Wer wird Erasmus+ Botschafter/in 2025?

Gesucht werden Personen, die das Programm mit Leben füllen – sei es durch einen prägenden Auslandsaufenthalt oder durch ihr Engagement an einer Institution. Auch Vorschläge für andere engagierte Personen sind möglich.
