The division of our world often happens through the formation of polarities. In order to be able to break up static patterns of thinking and to master social challenges of the future, competencies such as cohesion, discourse skills, empathy and diversity as a chance for holistic solutions are needed. On the one hand, young people in particular are very impressionable with regard to polarizing tend

Many people associate the Advent season with stress and a hectic pace. Yet the days before and during Christmas are actually particularly well suited to reflecting on essential values such as charity, mindfulness, generosity and social commitment.

And we all have it in our power to focus our attention more on these values and not get carried away by the hectic pace around us.

Because what we focus on will grow! - Maybe it will also be a beautiful Christmas tree for next year 😊🎄

"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights." This is stated in the first chapter of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which represents one of the most important foundations of our coexistence. 🧔🏿‍🧕👩‍🦰👳‍♂️

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed on 10th of December 1948 and defines rights that all human beings are entitled to without restriction from birth. 👶

With the "International Human Rights Day", which takes place annually on the 10th of December,📅 the United Nations reminds us that these rights are repeatedly violated worldwide. 🌎

Let us therefore work together for a world in which human rights are respected and protected! 🕊️✨

As the project is coming to an end, it is now important to disseminate the project results as widely as possible.🗣 Two Multiplier Events have already taken place in Cyprus 🇨🇾, where the developed materials were presented to the target groups and the implementation of various activities to counteract polarisation was discussed.👥

This was also the conviction of the students who took part in the learning teaching and training activity in Nicosia in October. Together with the project team they produced a video on the topic of “bye, polarity” in all project languages. We are happy that we are able to show you the result now 🤩

Did you know that empathy has been a compulsory subject in Denmark since 1993? 👩‍🏫 In this subject, pupils learn both to communicate their feelings 🗣 and to empathise with others. This enables them to show vulnerability and makes them aware that every pupil has worries and fears. The class then works together to find solutions to these problems.💡 The subject also aims to prevent bullying and humiliating behaviour towards other pupils.

Do you also think this subject should be compulsory across the EU?

Last week the 3rd transnational project meeting took place in Figueira da Foz, Portugal. Since the project ends on the 31st of December, the project team gathered to discuss the remaining steps to finalise the last project result – the guide for young people to become ambassadors of a united Europe 🌟. The challenges ⛰ and achievements 🏆 of the project as well as the dissemination 🗣 of the project results after the end of the project were other important topics of the meeting.

The LTTA, IMPROVE AGAINST POLARITY, successfully took place in Nicosia, Cyprus between the 10th and 13th of October 2023.

Students, teachers, and trainers from all partner countries came together and discussed their personal perspectives on polarity and polarisation🌝🌚 exchanged country differences and ideas, 🗣️ and built strong relationships 🤝🏻🌏

The training event ended with the creation of unifying content on social media by the participating students, that you can find under the hashtags and . 💫

We are very hopeful that this training week served young people to become ambassadors of a united Europe , who actively co-create their future and stand up for their values such as respect, freedom, empathy, awareness, acceptance and courage. 🫂✨

In yesterday's and today's LTT sessions we delved deeper into the topic of polarisation. We looked at how prejudice, conditioning and experience affect our first impressions of people.

We then had two panel discussions where students and teachers talked about how polarisation affects them personally and exchanged ideas on how different groups (family, associations, friends) can be used to actively counteract it.

In addition, Cypriots were interviewed about how they are affected by polarisation in their daily lives and how they see the political situation in Cyprus.

Last but not least, a multilingual music video was produced, which will be available on our website soon, so stay tuned! 😉
