Day 6 and we would like to introduce you to the lovely Dana Sophia Nickel who will take over our account today!

Hiiiiii I’m Dana! 🌞
I’m a cellist and cello teacher currently doing my Master’s at HfKM Regensburg with Tomasz Skweres. Alongside my studies, I teach cello at the public music school in Regensburg. 🫯 I really love working with children and teenagers, but I also love being on stage — whether performing chamber music or playing in an orchestra. In 2025, I was part of the Bavarian Orchestra Academy in Regensburg, where I had the wonderful opportunity to play alongside the musicians of Staatstheater Regensburg.

Since last year, I’ve also been a yoga teacher and I’m currently preparing my own weekly yoga class, “Yoga for Musicians,” at Haus der Musik Regensburg. 🧘🏼‍♀️ In my free time, I love staying active — running, cycling, swimming, and pretty much anything else that brings me joy :D Hiking, snowboarding, you name it! I also enjoy all kinds of creative projects, like knitting my own sweaters. 🧶

As the Feldkirch Masterclass is coming to an end, I can already say that it has been such a wonderful week for me! I’ve loved meeting young musicians from all over the world and learning so much from Matthias Johansen to improve my cello playing. I also had the chance to learn more about music psychology and fitness for musicians, and I got to experience a completely new sound from my cello thanks to violin maker Ullrich Becker!

Day 5 🫯 — Meet Xiaomu Yuan ✨
- pianist, concert artist and passionate musician! 🎹

Originally from Beijing, China. Xiaomu’s musical journey began at the age of four, when she received her first piano as a birthday gift. Since then, music has taken her across China, the United States and Europe, shaping her into the artist she is today.

At fifteen, Xiaomu moved to the United States to pursue her piano studies, and later continued her musical journey in Zürich at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. During this time, she performed frequently and participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned pianists. She continued her studies at the Musik-Akademie Basel, where she completed her Soloist Diploma.

Today, Xiaomu is based in Berlin and beyond her work at the piano, Xiaomu finds inspiration in exploring different repertoire, chamber music, and composition.

It's day 4 of the Masterclasses and time for another Instagram Takeover.

Jonas Jonas Streit is going to take over for today 🎻🎻

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m Jonas. I’m a cellist, and I’ve had the chance to study in Feldkirch with Matthias Johansen and in Lyon with Anne Gastinel, before now doing my Master’s in Karlsruhe with Tatjana Vassilieva-Monnier.

I really enjoy chamber music and playing in the orchestra, as well as performing in general. I’m also going to start an academy at the Staatstheater Nürnberg beginning in December! 🎻

When I’m not playing the cello, I really like doing different kinds of sports, cooking, and playing games.

I particularly enjoy the diverse workshops at the Feldkirch Masterclasses, and it’s already my fourth time participating!

I’m looking forward to taking you through my day and showing you a bit of the experiences I’ll be making. 😊

Day 2 of Feldkircher Masterclasses and a special will be taking over our account!

Meet Hai Hai —pianist, collaborator and passionate chamber musician. 🎹

Originally from Kunming, China, Hai’s musical journey led him to Berlin at the age of 18, where he studied Piano Performance at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. During his years at Hanns Eisler, he developed a strong foundation as a solo pianist while gradually discovering his passion for chamber music and musical collaboration. In June 2026, he was admitted to the Master’s programme in Collaborative Piano and Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, where he will begin his studies this September.

Over the years, Hai has collaborated with musicians across Europe and Asia, taking part in chamber music projects, festivals and cultural exchange concerts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, China and beyond. For him, music is not only about performing, but about bringing people together — sharing ideas, listening to each other’s stories, and allowing different cultures and perspectives to meet, collide and create something beautiful.

We’re deep in preparations for this year’s 10th edition of the Feldkirch Masterclasses✨

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 10th anniversary, and we can’t wait to welcome both new and returning participants to Feldkirch. The week will be filled with chamber music, individual and group lessons, inspiring workshops, fitness sessions, concerts, late-night sight-reading sessions, and so much more.

Applications are still open for 10th Feldkircher Masterclasses and we are thrilled to have double bass back on the roster! This year we are bringing the fantastic Simon Hartmann who is Solobassit at Symphony Orchestra St. Gallen and Professor for Double bass at Stella Vorarlberg Privathochschule für Musik ✨

Dr. Teresa Wenhart is a psychologist, neuroscientist, and cellist working at the intersection of music, brain research, and artistic practice.

She holds degrees in psychology and cognitive neuroscience (LMU Munich) and a PhD in the neuroscience of music perception (Hannover & University of Cambridge), alongside professional cello training in Zurich. 🎻

Her work focuses on how perception, emotion, and cognition shape musical performance, combining science with artistic experience. She supports musicians in performance, learning, and artistic identity, and works internationally as a lecturer, coach, and researcher in musician health and hearing protection.🧠

We warmly welcome her to the 10th edition of the Feldkircher Masterclasses, where she will offer 1:1 coaching sessions and group workshops on “brain hacks for musical practice for auditions” and “schema-based coaching for musicians”.🌟
