Chingyuan (Joanna) Chiu comes from National Taichung University of Education in Taiwan and currently studies in the Bachelor programme Social Work at FHV.

- What has been the best experience during your studies so far?
In class, I enjoyed the time I spent working with my team members, whether local students or fellow exchange students. I learned a lot from them; their cultures and perspectives made me more creative and more confident in sharing my ideas.
After class, traveling around was the best part of this experience. Whether hiking in the nearby mountains or taking trains to visit other countries, I was amazed by the stunning scenery! Every journey brought new "surprises" and challenges, which broadened my horizons and enriched my life.

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
I would definitely say, don't hesitate or be afraid, just give it a try.
Before I came here, I worried about everything. I was afraid that this new journey would make me lose control of my life. However, joining this exchange program gave me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. It helped me learn more about myself and gain a clearer sense of direction for my future. You won't regret it, as long as you don't miss this chance.

Arda Ünal studies in the Bachelor Engineering and Business programme at FHV and currently spends his exchange semester at Universidad de Almería in Spain.

- What has been the best experience of your studies abroad so far?
"There is no single best experience because every day and every person you meet is a unique experience. However, being able to travel to many major cities in Spain, including Barcelona, Málaga, Granada, and Palma de Mallorca, as well as to Morocco, visiting Marrakech, Fez, and Chefchaouen, has been an incredible journey."

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
"If you are unsure whether you should go on an exchange, I can assure you that it will be one of the best experiences of your life. You will meet so many new friends, and you will definitely miss them when you return home."

- Going on exchange abroad is absolutely worthwhile because...
"... the memories you create and the people you get to know will be unforgettable."

Bianca Kaufmann studies in the Bachelor InterMedia programme at FHV and currently spends her exchange semester at HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

- What has been the best experience during your studies abroad so far?
"One of the highlights was definitely Harry Styles' concert, which the two of us traveled to Amsterdam to see. Even though I'm not his biggest fan, it was the experience, the atmosphere, and the whole package that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I was happy to tag along with another friend from Canada who is also studying abroad, and we had a great time together."

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
"Be open to new adventures, and even if things turn out differently than you might have imagined, make the most of what you enjoy and savour every day."

- Going on exchange abroad is worthwhile because…
"... it gives you the chance to explore a new place, learn a new language, try new foods, and experience many new and exciting things. "

Haroldas Klangauskas comes from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech) in Lithuania and currently spends his exchange semester at FHV studying in the Master Computer Science programme.

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
"My biggest piece of advice is to go out and connect with the locals as early as possible. While meeting and befriending other international students is a wonderful part of the experience, truly getting to know the native residents is essential. It is the absolute best way to feel genuinely integrated into the community and to experience the authentic culture of your host country."

- What has been the best experience of your studies abroad so far?
"The best experience during my studies abroad has been the openness, trust, and helpfulness of the local students. From the very beginning, they made me feel welcome and supported. Their willingness to help and include international students created many meaningful friendships and unforgettable memories."

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
"Be open-minded, adaptable, and willing to step outside your comfort zone. Studying abroad will challenge you in many ways, but it will also help you grow as a person. The experiences, friendships, and lessons you gain are things that nobody can ever take away from you."

- Going on exchange abroad is worthwhile because...
"... it is often a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience another culture, meet amazing people, and create unforgettable memories. It broadens your perspective and gives you experiences that will stay with you for the rest of your life."

"During our studies abroad, the best experience so far has been meeting many new people and making international friends while trying to speak chinese."

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
"Our advice to other students would be to stay open-minded and dare to travel 9,000 km to immerse themselves in a different culture & language."

Salome Landl studies in the Bachelor International Business programme at FHV and currently spends her exchange semestet at Hellenic Mediterranean University in Greece.

- What has been the best experience of your studies abroad so far?
"The best experience during my studies abroad so far has definitely been the people. I am currently spending my exchange semester in Crete and I honestly love everything about it. Not only is the island itself a dream, but what really makes this experience so special are the people I get to share it with. I have made friendships for life here and I am having the best time.
Besides studying, I also had the chance to explore many nearby islands like Santorini, Milos, Paros and many more. Every trip became a new adventure and made my exchange semester even more unforgettable."

- What advice would you give to other students about studying abroad?
"My advice to other students would definitely be: just do it! You learn so much about yourself during an exchange semester. Try to make the most out of every single day, be open to new experiences and do not be afraid to talk to new people. Most people are super nice and you can meet amazing friends from all over the world."

- Going on exchange abroad is worthwhile because...
"... you grow as a person, meet incredible people, experience new cultures and create memories and friendships that stay with you for life."
