What shape do you keep coming back to?
Somewhere along the way, I stopped collecting moves.
Mastery was never learning something once. It’s returning to the same shapes again and again, connecting them in new ways, letting them sink deeper into the body each time.
Holding a figure longer, dancing it cleaner, full tension, every line on purpose, each entrance and exit set right on the timing, so you see the shape in its full weight.
And this is exactly how I teach. I let my students deepen what they already know, again and again, until it becomes clear in the body, and only then we take one step further, playing with the familiar and reaching into the unknown on purpose, in the right dose.
It’s also what I emphasize in my teacher trainings: good teaching isn’t a pile of new tricks. It’s repetition that builds clarity, and clarity that earns the next step.
The known, deepened, is what opens the unknown.
