English Language with Irina

Why did I write a Workbook for German learning, while I am teaching English? Because I found this to work for my own learning of German language!

Now German Patterns Workbook is available with English, Ukrainian and Russian translations!
Check them out here:

Learn German language patterns. Express basic meanings, ideas, concepts with ready made German structures. Free Workbook with English, Ukrainian or Russian translations.

Dear all,

I have developed an Intuitive Language Learning series for learning German and English, based on my lifelong experience learning foreign languages and teaching English.

For learners of German, I am offering the first complete workbook, German Patterns (Workbook 1), for beginners via my website for free.

You will start with meaning and move directly to how that meaning is expressed through natural language patterns.

There is no grammar or vocabulary in isolation — only patterns, structures, and models in full sentences. English translations are included.

Forthcoming workbooks in the series will include materials for learning German and English from beginner to advanced levels. New editions will be announced to subscribers of the newsletter.

I would also be very interested in your feedback on whether this approach is helpful for you.

Thank you, and I hope to hear from you,

Irina

Dear all,

Here is a a quick update on the additional method I started to use more and more with my students to activate their passive knowledge and make them sound more natural in English!

Namely, it's learning natural speaking patterns instead of analytical learning of Grammar rules and trying to apply them later in practice.

We repeat same natural patterns in various contexts and tenses, as well as with different vocabulary until the student internalises the pattern and can use it spontaneously. This includes:
- a common natural speaking pattern
- its usage in various situations and creating scenarios
- natural pronunciation
- a lot of repetitions
