American Samoa Basketball Association

The chance to wear “AMERICAN SAMOA” across their chests in Tahiti this October means a lot more than basketball. The Men’s and Women’s National Basketball Teams are preparing for the 2026 Polynesian Cup Qualifiers, carrying the pride of home and showing young athletes what’s possible.

Getting both teams there requires travel, lodging, meals, transportation, and tournament expenses. The fundraiser has already reached its first bit of progress through four donations, and each contribution helps move these athletes closer to taking the court for American Samoa.

I’m sharing this because the community’s support can help turn that opportunity into reality. If you can, visit the GoFundMe page to donate or share it with someone who may want to stand behind these teams. Fa’afetai tele lava to everyone supporting them. 🏀

To all the participating teams, thank you for bringing your passion, sportsmanship, competitiveness, and love for the game. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the court at our next tournament!

A very special thank you to our amazing sponsor, Rev Luaao Leasiolagi and the crew from Carson, LA for their generous donations through raffles and prizes for the tournament. Our community players were so blessed to receiving great prizes through the raffles. Thank you Rev for your continuous love for the sport of basketball and giving back to the community you came from. Your generous support made this event a huge success.

We also want to recognize our referees, scorekeepers, volunteers, event staff, photographers, and the fans who filled the gym with energy throughout the tournament. Without the refs there would be no games, big faafetai to officials Head ref Paul Amituana'i & his crew Tevita & Tirso for continuing to serve our community through this sport.
