HOW TO MAKE ENGLISH TEA

1. Choose your English Tea 🍃🍂: Earl Grey, English breakfast, Ceylon tea, other black tea leaves.
2. Boil water 💨: be sure to always use fresh water when making tea. Boil it (100°C/+200°F).
3. Prepare your tea and teawear 🥄:
- If you are employing loose tea leaves, you should apply the rule of the thumb which is 1 (one) teaspoon of tea per cup in addition to one extra teaspoon for the teapot itself. Therefore, if you have a 4 cup teapot, you would use 5 teaspoons.
- If you are using the well-known teabags, use one per mug.
- Or, if you are receiving a larger group of people, a teapot is the preferred method, and the ratio will be one teabag per person.
4. Pour the water 💧: it is imperative that the water is boiling! Give the teapot a good stir to infuse all of the tea leaves in the boiling water.
5. Wait ⏱: a good cup of tea requires time for the flavor to fully develop, so 1-2 minutes for a cup of tea, while 3-5 minutes for a teapot.
6. Remove the teabag and throw it away 🗑. Never squeeze the teabag as this can release added bitterness and cause unwanted flavors in your tea.
7. Add milk 🥛, then sugar : to dilute and enhance tea’s overall flavor. The perfect cup will have a dark-brown orange hue (like American coffee). Stir. After milk, add sugar as needed.
8. Optional: grab a biscuit or cake. 🍪🧁🍰
