The SASS Pipe Band Tour to La Cumbre was a living celebration of heritage, tradition and community.

Throughout the tour, our students proudly represented St Andrew’s Scots School, sharing the rich traditions of Scottish culture with the local community. From the performance at Teatro La Cumbre, to the vibrant parade through the town’s streets, the concert in the main square and other memorable engagements, every activity reflected the commitment, discipline and passion that define our SASS Pipe Band & Dancers.

One of the most meaningful moments was the visit to LINKS, a British Community Care Home, where music became a bridge between generations. The performance offered residents an opportunity to reconnect with cherished memories, while our students experienced first-hand the power of service and cultural connection.

The tour was a powerful reminder that heritage is not only something we preserve; it is something we live, share and pass on to future generations. Through music, our students become ambassadors of a legacy that continues to inspire, bringing people together through tradition, belonging and a shared sense of community.

This year’s Secondary Schools Instrumental Festival brought together more than 300 young musicians from seven schools in a remarkable celebration of talent, dedication and collaboration at St. Hilda´s College.

Following a full day of rehearsals, students united as one orchestra to perform an inspiring and diverse repertoire, spanning from Brahms and The Beatles to film music, tango and contemporary classics.
Each school then showcased its own musical identity, our students performed a vibrant and energetic Duran Duran medley.

What stood out most was not only the outstanding musical standard achieved, but also the commitment, teamwork and passion demonstrated throughout the experience. Our musicians performed with confidence, maturity and excellence, creating memorable moments and embracing every opportunity to learn from one another.

In Secondary School, we were delighted to welcome ADU, a team that competes in Argentina’s National Wheelchair Basketball League.

The visit provided our students with a valuable opportunity to discover more about the sport, connect with the players and gain a deeper appreciation of inclusive athletics.

Students took part in a training session led by their coach before joining the ADU players on court. Thanks to the wheelchairs they brought with them, our students were able to engage with the game in a new way, making the day both memorable and enriching.

Some of the most meaningful lessons come from seeing the world through the eyes of others. Experiences like this celebrate diversity, strengthen our sense of community and remind us that understanding grows when we connect, participate and learn alongside one another.

♻️Sustainability is most powerful when learning leads to action!

To mark World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, our Kindergarten, Primary & Secondary students took part in hands-on experiences that encouraged them to explore their role in caring for the environment.

🌿From creating seed balls with native species and supporting reforestation efforts across the campus, to collecting single-use plastics and learning about responsible waste management, students worked together to make a positive impact in their everyday surroundings. They also discovered how plastic pollution affects marine ecosystems through interactive activities focused on protecting ocean life.
