Admins asking for scope and sequences ASAP!
How do you plan your school year? Do your students know which are their learning targets? Do you?
A smart, fast, and clear way to plan is BACKWARDS PLANNING. It’s a great method to organize your ideas and help students to understand why they are doing certain activities.
As usual, you need to start with a clear goal, then you create the assessment YES! before planning your sequence, in this way you can find the best path to help students successfully complete their assessment.
What do you think?

Curious fact!
Today’s date written in Spanish is a polindrome and an ambigram. Why’s that? Because it reads the same from left to right and upside down.
(In English it is written 02.22.2022, so it doesn’t apply)

This is an extract from the very first poem which connects the idea of love and St. valentine’s by the British writer Geoffrey Chaucer.
“Parliament of Fowls” not only exemplifies an idealized version of love in the Middle Ages, but also represents women’s increasing power over their own love lives.

November 8th is in Argentina The African American culture day
Black people have had a huge influence on Argentina’s history, but now they make up only one percent of the population.
Since 2013 we have the opportunity to think critically about how our History has been white-washed.
Read about this date and talk about deep concepts related to stop racism and celebrate differences with your students and fellow teachers

How do you feel when you are blindfolded? 🙈
Anxious? Scared? Insecure? Lost?
If you answer yes to any of these, the same happens to your students. Sometimes, we finish the class exhausted, whining about students’ behavior but we don’t realize that their behavior was a response to something.
I really suggest starting the class with an AGENDA. Students’ awareness of lessons goals will help reduce anxiety and it may impact in the behavior.
🍎kindergarten: you can have some pictures ready for specific activities. As you start the class you prepare the agenda with students and they can check the activities that they’ve accomplished. You can also have a surprise activity so they are engaged until the end for what’s next.
🍎primary school: writing the activities at the beginning of the class could be fun as they can guess the word with simple drawings and sometimes you can make them choose/ vote between 2 options for any of the activities.
🍎secondary/adults: everybody wants to know the objective of the class so they can manage their time. A complete lesson points or to do list (or a combination) is a great tool for these students.
Do you use agendas in your lessons?
Hope you find it useful💫

In the south hemisphere we celebrate the beginning of this wonderful season!
Do you plan special activities for spring day or is it just like any other lesson?
In my case, in kindergarten and primary level I usually do something special:
Some ideas 💡
🍎 kindergarten: present vocabulary related and play competition games to find specific things in the classroom, sing a song (spring is here by the learning station) listen to a story (spring has come | bedtime stories | Pinkfong)
🍎primary school: talk about peace day, make a picnic and review food vocabulary, do some crafts, read about what season is in other parts of the world 🌍
Hope you find it useful! 🌸 day
