Looking for a southern university, specializing in engineering, biology or agricultural studies of any kind? Then Clemson University in South Carolina is an excellent option for you!

This University is science and tech oriented like Georgia Tech for example, but it has more of a small town feel with a tight-knit campus. They have large and well known programs in engineering, biology and agriculture, but also offer liberal arts for those interested in the humanities.

Clemson has an incredibly strong sports program also, offering D1 sports teams in almost every sport you can imagine. There were more stadiums than I could count when I visited the campus, one for each of the varsity sports. Their orange paw print logo, present on every building on campus and even downtown, is testament to this tightly knit community of Tigers.

If you are interested in Clemson university, or any of the universities I toured in the south of the US this year, send me a message and I’ll fill you in.

Very soon, in Mid-December, the Early Admissions offers will be announced. So now you need to decide which college to attend!

This blog post walks you through the key factors to compare: total cost and financial aid, academic fit and degree programs, campus culture and community, support and resources, location and lifestyle, size and teaching style, plus your own gut feeling and personal connection. By looking at each of these areas honestly, you can move from “application mode” to “acceptance mode” and make a confident college decision that fits who you are and how you want to grow.

Good luck! 🍀

Last week I had the pleasure of speaking with the Secondary School students at The Global School ( ). Together with their Head of School, Mariana Balastegui, we introduced students to the wide range of study-abroad opportunities available to them.

The students were engaged and curious about how and when to apply, what options exist around the world, and how to access scholarships. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation—and getting to visit their beautiful campus.

If your school would like a similar complimentary presentation on international university admissions or global study opportunities, please feel free to contact me!

📣📣 November 1st is the DEADLINE for Early Applications to College. Time to put those finishing touches on your applications!

There are definitely advantages and disadvantages to submitting your applications early. On the positive side, applying through “Early Decision” (with a Binding decision), or “Early Action” (with a NON-Binding decision)  gives you a better chance of getting in. It signals to the universities that you have chosen them as your favorite and have prepared your application well in advance of others in order to have a better chance to get in. It also provides you with the university admissions decision by mid-December, which is super convenient in terms of planning and requesting scholarships. Additionally, choosing to apply to some of your favorite universities through the Early Application process allows you to focus solely on those universities first (like your “Plan A”).  Afterwards you can prepare your applications to other universities (as your “Plan B”)  in case you don’t get into the highly competitive universities you applied to in the first round.

If you are not ready to turn in your applications now and are rushing to slap together your application quickly, then it’s better to wait for “Regular Decision” –  typically around January 1st. You always want to put your best foot forward and present a well-thought out essay, correctly completed documents and forms, the correct amount of letters of recommendation and the appropriate application fees.

If you need any help with the application process, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m happy to help you polish your application to make sure it is the best it can be. Good luck!

📣 Headline: “Studying in the U.S.: how much money you need & the step-by-step process to apply to the most prestigious universities”

✍️ La Nacion newspaper interviewed me extensively about the reasons Argentines decide to study abroad. We discussed the economic and professional opportunities, personal growth experiences, better research facilities, multicultural campuses, strong infrastructure, and immersion in English. Of the 3,100 Argentines that chose the US, the majority of them studied Computer Science & Mathematics (~25%), Engineering (19%) and Business (14%). The article also detailed the costs of a U.S. education, as well as the steps to take in order to apply to the universities.

🔑 What is my take away?  As I said in the article: “I believe that my dual perspective, as an American and as an educational consultant in Argentina, allows me to see that both systems have different advantages. The U.S. model offers prestige, community, and international opportunities, while the Argentine model offers academic quality, accessibility, and social support.”

What do you think? Would you like to study in the US?

This week I attended a U.S. College Fair here in Buenos Aires 🇺🇸🇦🇷

More than 20 universities were represented — from large, prestigious and very competitive institutions to smaller, more affordable colleges that are just as strong academically.

What impressed me most was the variety:
📍 Some were big campuses in large cities, others were small ones in more rural areas.
📍 The choices of degrees were endless: business, technology, education, communications, health sciences, engineering, urban planning, any type of humanities you can think of and even a Pilot major with an airport on campus!
📍 A wide range of costs, but all offering excellent education and unique opportunities

There truly is a college for everyone. 🎓

A big thank you to EducationUSA for organizing such an inspiring event!

I have a “College Visit Checklist” that will guide you through what you need to do before, during and after the tours, in order to truly take advantage of your time on campus. Send me a message if you would like me to share it with you.

Bon voyage!

Walking through the campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan, it’s easy to see why the University of Michigan is considered one of the top public universities in the U.S.  I was totally impressed by the beautiful Diag, historic buildings and incredibly amount of programs offered to students from around the world.

This place is large! The advantages of a large university are many: there are literally hundreds of degree programs, thousands of clubs to join, tons of sports teams to either watch or play on, multiple types of housing options and all the support you would need to take advantage of everything it has to offer.  There is something for everyone here!

* 30,000 undergraduate students
* 14 different schools or colleges
* 280+ degree programs
* A multitude of undergraduate research opportunities
* 120 study abroad programs all over the world
* 380 cultural and ethnic student organizations
* Global Scholars Program (GSP) offers a tight-knit intercultural living-learning community where students live together, take shared classes, and work on global projects
* Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) understands the unique pressures of international life—homesickness, culture shock, language challenges—and offers culturally sensitive support
* The International Center and English Language Institute provide guidance with visas, academics, and language support.

👉 If you’re considering studying in the U.S., Michigan has both the academic rigor and the international support to help you thrive.

If you or anyone you know would like some help or advice, please feel free to contact me. I always provide free consultations to any new students.

Last week I had the honor to be invited to St. Andrew’s Scots School here in Buenos Aires to give a workshop on applying to colleges abroad. We talked about financial aid and scholarships (including specific examples from my former students) as well as the pros and cons of studying in the US or Europe.

St. Andrews is one of the best schools in the city, so it was an honor to be invited to speak. I was impressed with their questions and their willingness to discuss their college plans. We had an interesting talk about what they might want to study and how to find more information about colleges. It was a great session with super involved students!

If you or someone you know wants to study in the US or Europe, but doesn’t quite know where to start, give me a call. I’m happy to discuss it in a free initial consultation.
