AF Pub Quiz

A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT BRITISH & AMERICAN CULTURE, PRACTICE & IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH!!!!

A 2 hour workshop designed to give you the chance to improve your English and learn about British & American culture in a fun, relaxed way through activities and games, culminating in an authentic pub style quiz where you will form teams and go head to head with your competitors to become the quiz champions! Furthermore, as it's a Pub Quiz, complementary beer will be served throughout the final qu

iz, and there will of course be prizes for the winning team! Format
5 rounds (plus ongoing picture round), 10 questions per round, short break between each round to tally scores and continue picture round
- Round 1 – General knowledge
- Round 2 – Music (guess the intro and questions to an entire song)
- Round 3 – Theme of the month
- Round 4 – Video round (short excerpt from film or TV programme and related questions)
- Round 5 – Geography/History
- Picture and ‘Top Ten’ Round – ongoing throughout quiz, to be completed in between rounds

- Lewis Ryder-Jones
Lewis is from Edinburgh in Scotland. He has an MA in Modern European Languages from Edinburgh University which he completed in 2010. Prior to completing his Masters Degree, Lewis spent time living in Mauritania, France and Spain, where he gained English teaching experience with children and adults. In early 2011, Lewis completed the CELTA, before working for a short time at a prestigious Language School in Edinburgh. He has been in Buenos Aires for about 1 year teaching alongside Mat at American Forum.

- Mathew Davies
Mat is a native English speaker from the west coast of Scotland. He studied modern musicianship at Jewel & Esk College, Edinburgh, obtaining a diploma in the subject. In late 2004, he spent a year travelling in Argentina and neighbouring countries where he started learning the language and cultures of the region. Upon returning to the UK he worked for just under two years in the University of Manchester. He then decided to return to Argentina to teach and, upon receiving a TEFL qualification, has been teaching English in American Forum since 2010.

A pub quiz is a quiz held in a public house - at American Forum we organize it in-house!!

Our Pub Quiz is actually a 2 hour workshop designed to give you the chance to improve your English and learn about British & American culture in a fun, relaxed way through activities and games, culminating in an authentic pub style quiz where you will form teams and go head to head with your competitors to become the quiz champions!

Furthermore, as it's a Pub Quiz, complementary beer will be served throughout the final quiz, and there will of course be prizes for the winning team!

CATEGORIES:
- Round 1 – general knowledge
- Round 2 – music (guess the intro and questions to an entire song)
- Round 3 – Theme of the month
- Round 4 – Video round (short excerpt from film or TV programme and related questions)
- Round 5 – Geography/History
- Picture and ‘Top Ten’ Round – ongoing throughout quiz, to be completed in between rounds.
- Common link game – 20 pictures (celebrities, characters, brands, products etc.)
- Top Ten game. e.g name the top ten oil producing countries in the world
