🧠 ¿Y si la memoria no fuera una cuestión de talento… sino de estrategia?
Vivimos rodeados de información:
nombres, fechas, conversaciones, tareas, ideas, contraseñas, vocabulario.
🧩 No necesitás “tener buena memoria”.
Necesitás herramientas para entrenarla.

This is something I often tell my students: Learning English is a lot like training your body.
Right now, I’m training to become a yoga teacher.
And I’ve realized something important:
Attending classes is not enough.
You can understand the theory.
You can follow the session.
You can even feel progress.
But real change happens in the practice you do on your own.
The same applies to English.
A 90-minute class once a week is powerful.
But it’s only part of the process.
Progress comes from what you do between classes:
• Listening to a podcast on your way to work
• Watching a video in English
• Reading something that challenges you
• Using the language in small, real moments
That’s where fluency is built.
Class gives you direction.
Practice builds your ability.
So the question is:
What are you doing between sessions?
Read → Listen → Practice → Repeat

What if choosing where to live became a language task?
In today’s class, students explored a simple but powerful question:
🏙️ City life or 🌿 rural life?
But instead of just “talking about it”, they had a clear communicative goal:
👉 decide, justify, and compare.
💬 Target language in action:
• We chose the city because it offers more opportunities
• It’s better for professional growth
• You can meet more people
• It’s more dynamic than a small town
This is what Task-Based Learning looks like:
✔️ meaningful choices
✔️ real opinions
✔️ language used with purpose
When learners have something real to say, fluency follows.

This week, our first track reached an important milestone: the Checkpoint.
I want to take a moment to recognize the work behind that moment. Every participant showed strong commitment, active engagement, and a clear willingness to use the target language consistently.
What stood out the most was not only their performance, but their progress. In just four encounters, students moved from exploring the language to actively using it to express ideas, negotiate meaning, and communicate with purpose.
This is exactly what a task-based approach aims to achieve. Not isolated knowledge, but usable language. Not future potential, but immediate application.
By the end of the track, participants walked away with tools they can already use in their professional contexts. More importantly, they left with greater confidence in their ability to communicate effectively.
I’m genuinely impressed by what this group has achieved in such a short time.

🚨🚨 STUDENTS – IMPORTANT REMINDER
If you’re preparing for an exam in June, this is for you.
This is not just about FCE.
This is about how you study.
You are responsible for your own progress.
✔️ Practice all areas, not just the ones you like
✔️ Don’t rely only on class time
✔️ Use your time outside class effectively
Stop leaving everything for the last minute.
That strategy doesn’t work.
A few minutes of focused practice every day is far more powerful than cramming.
Build effective habits now:
Consistency > intensity
⚠️ No practice = no progress
Your results in June will reflect what you do daily, not what you do once in a while.
