Certain elements of textspeak are arguably an acceptable form of what essentially amounts to a dialect developed for the internet, where we communicate solely through text. Concision is valued in this scenario as much as creative ways to express our tone and intent, so indicating laughter with "lol" or using emoticons to indicate an emotion may be just the "evolution" of language.

I've loved the Glaswegian accent all my life! Scots rule! They are brave, they take the p**s out of themselves, they are drunk bastards and they are impossible to understand to all other English speakers!
But they are jolly fellows whose heads don't button up the back! Here, a neutral english voice recognition lift suffers the joy of being a Scot!
I would like to dedicate this post to my friend Omar Kraiquer who loves them too. One day we might walk the luvely streets of Glasgow!
