The GGL Philosophy
The Going Global Languages (GGL) team believes that every learner should be treated as the unique individuals you are, so every single lesson is personalised and tailored specifically to you! We teach our native languages so we can help you to efficiently navigate the language and sound as natural as possible.
We are more of a language community than an institute. Our students have the opportunity to be a part of social events and can bring friends and family along, so everybody can practice the languages they are learning in a relaxed environment. Although we specialise in private one-on-one classes, we do also offer small group classes upon request, if the learners are at similar levels. We recommend no more than 2 - 4 in a class so that you maximise the amount of time you can practice and our teachers can personalise the classes more for you.
Our team is passionate about supporting you to achieve competency in your chosen foreign language so you can actually go out and use it with confidence in the real world. We discuss with you when you are most likely going to use the language to make sure we are creating fun, dynamic activities that prioritise the vocabulary and expressions you will need the most.
Learning a language is a unique journey for everyone, but it is always an incredibly rewarding one and worth the time and effort you put into it. We are here for you to help with any question or concern you may have at any time. Just ask us!
Our Methodology
In order to provide the best possible language learning experience for you, we factor in what you need most and how you learn best as an individual. Everybody’s brain works differently and needs different teaching approaches for the language to make sense to us. We all have our own mix of strengths and things we need a bit more support with. For this reason, we have used the findings of the latest psychological and neurological studies to construct our methodology. Our teachers design classes that are dynamic and engaging in a way that will make sense to you. If there is ever anything in particular you would like to focus on or change, you can simply discuss that with your teacher to work into your classes. We go at the pace that works for you and believe mistakes are great learning opportunities, so take advantage of that and make as many as you can! You might just find you progress faster!
Learning languages should never just be about memorising things you will forget later. We are here to help you gain confidence and competency in your chosen foreign language to actually communicate with other people! Our social events are a great way for you to meet other students and their friends and to practice in a relaxed setting. If you have a great idea for our next event, please let us know!
Teacher Training
If you are interested in teaching, the first thing you need to consider is who you want to teach. What environment would you like to be in? If you need a qualification that is recognised worldwide, we highly recommend the CELTA course. However, if you would like to be a private teacher in Buenos Aires, you will find very quickly that knowing what you’re doing is the most important thing. It is also crucial to remember that teaching a group and teaching a one-on-one class is completely different and you need to be prepared.
At Going Global Languages we have designed intensive teacher training courses to cater to demand. We know that not everybody has the time or money to spare for a big course, so we have broken the training down into affordable and easily accessible 5 - 6 hour intensive sessions that are run on the weekends. You can simply choose the courses that suit your needs and availability best. The first session introduces you to all the basic knowledge and teaching practice techniques you need to be an efficient private language teacher. Every session covers the relevant theory and then you put this into practice in the session so you can get helpful feedback on the day. Once you have doe this session or if you feel you know enough already, you may wish to join us for a follow-up session that focusses in more detail on one area of dynamic teaching practice. These sessions include lesson planning and spontaneous activity design, dynamic grammar, linguistics for pronunciation, and IELTS exam preparation. Please message or email us directly if you are interested in any of these courses and have questions. We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
