The English-Speaking Union International Public Speaking Competition encourages young people to develop their ability to express ideas, build arguments, and engage in dialogue, fostering communication skills that help them thrive in a global and collaborative world.
Throughout its different stages, participants give evidence not only of their command of English, but also of their critical thinking, creativity, and confidence in public speaking. It is also a truly learning experience, where cultural exchange and meaningful connections play a key role.
We are very proud of Santiago Verriotis, one of our senior students, who accepted this great challenge. With the invaluable support of his teachers: Julieta Bottari and Malala McCormack, who acted as coaches, he progressed with great commitment and enthusiasm from the first round to the semi-finals, and all the way to the Grand Final.
Congrats, Santi! We are very proud of you and the way you represented SMS!

The English-Speaking Union promueve en los jóvenes el desarrollo de la expresión de ideas, la argumentación y el diálogo, fortaleciendo habilidades de comunicación clave para un mundo global. A lo largo de sus etapas, los participantes demuestran dominio del inglés, pensamiento crítico, creatividad y seguridad al hablar en público, en una experiencia enriquecida por el intercambio cultural.
Nos enorgullece que Santiago Verriotis, alumno de Senior, haya asumido este desafío y, con el acompañamiento de sus docentes Julieta Bottari y Malala McCormack, haya avanzado con compromiso y entusiasmo desde la primera ronda hasta la Gran Final.
