National Institute of Arts - NIA NIA provides interdisciplinary-art education to the highest standard of excellence for both amateurs and professionals in a safe and nurturing environment

In a journey that began some 21 years ago Motiance and Imbali, both schools occupying the John Larmonie Center, began exploring the possibility of merging. Having fulfilled the their personal journey of discovery in dance development and in interdisciplinary art education, both schools realized the intense desire to impact the country St. Maarten with their combined expertise fused in one Instutit

ion. Motiance (est. 1985) and Imbali (est. 1994) Dance Schools have both established themselves as leaders in cultural and artistic development on St. Maarten. By May of 2013, four deparments were established by audition:

-Department of Dance under the direction of Arlene Halley
-Department of Music under the direction of La-Vaune Henry
-Department of Drama under the direction of Loes Nauta
-Department of Musical Theatre under the direction of Clara Reyes
