SKOS needs your help!

As we continue preserving the history of Catholic Education on Sint Maarten, we've run into an unfortunate discovery: we currently have no photographs of the Jolly Dwarfs Kindergarten as a result of damage of the archives due to hurricanes ☹️

Every picture helps us preserve the legacy of this wonderful, former kindergarten for future generations. Let's not leave Jolly Dwarfs go down in history with zero pictures 🙏🏽 So we're calling on all former students, parents, and teachers of Jolly Dwarfs: who is ready to dig through those photo albums, drawers, and shoeboxes? 🕵️📷

P.s. If you have any pictures of St. Imelda Kindergarten, Sister Modeste Kindergarten, Butterfly Kindergarten, St. John's Ranch Kindergarten, or Sunbeam Kindergarten, we will gladly accept those as well 🤩

Celebrating 59 Years of Sister Regina Primary School 🎉 SKOS’ 2nd eldest Catholic School 🏫

SKOS and Sister Regina proudly celebrate the 59th Anniversary of Sister Regina Primary School, a school that has touched the lives of generations of students and families on Sint Maarten 🇸🇽 since opening its doors in 1967.

The school is named in honor of Sister Maria Regina Egelie, one of the pioneering Sisters who arrived on Sint Maarten in 1890 (136 years ago!) to help establish the Catholic education system. Sister Regina dedicated her life to education and service, serving as Principal of the St. Joseph School and as Prioress of the St. Joseph Convent 🙏🏽 Her commitment, faith, and vision continue to inspire the values and mission of the school that proudly bears her name 💫

As we commemorate this special milestone, we give thanks 💕 for the countless principals, teachers, staff members, students, parents, alumni, and supporters who have contributed to the Sr.Regina Primary School family over the past 59 years. Your dedication, hard work, and love have helped shape young minds and build a strong legacy of excellence.

May God’s abundant blessings be upon everyone who has been part of Sister Regina Primary School’s journey since its founding. May He continue to guide, protect, and inspire the school community for many years to come.

✨ A Blessed Beginning to the 2026/2027 School Year ✨

As we embark on an exciting new school year, we were honored to have Fr. Yohanes bless our School Board Office, asking God’s guidance, wisdom, and protection upon all who serve our Catholic school community. This special blessing reminds us of our shared mission and our theme for the year: “We Are Called to Be the Salt of the Earth.” 🌎 As followers of Christ, may we bring goodness, faith, compassion, and hope to everyone we encounter, making a positive difference in our school and beyond.

As we begin this new academic year, we prayerfully entrust all of our students, staff, families, and stakeholders to God’s loving care. May He bless us with a year filled with learning, growth, joy, and success. May our school community remain safe, productive, and united in faith as we journey together 🙏🏾

We're happily piggybacking on a birthday advertisement we spotted in the newspaper today ☺️🎉

The SKOS family would like to extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Bernadine van Veen on the occasion of her 85th birthday! 🌹

Many know Mrs. van Veen as a dedicated educator who helped shape the lives of countless students over the years. In addition to serving as a teacher, she also led Sister Magda Primary School as Principal from 1991 to 2004, leaving a lasting impact on both students and colleagues alike.

On this special milestone, we celebrate her years of service, leadership, and commitment to education. Thank you, Mrs. van Veen, for the difference you made in so many lives 🥰🙏🏽
