Another stop of our Moldova-Ukraine-Armenia exchange trip where the breathtaking ԻննոԻջևան / InnoIjevan and the lovely and refreshing Novel Art Cafe Նովել արվեստանոց-թեյարան, both EU supported projects, celebrating youth, culture, tradition, and entrepreneurship. InnoIjevan is a "Real School" founded by the Armenian Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises-UATE and CoWo-coworking network, offering a 4-year education in science, technology, arts and crafts. The school uses a "learning by doing" approach and helps the students change their mindset from consumption to production of values, solutions, and meanings.
And then was Novel - a cozy cafe founded by a French language teacher inspired by her city and handicraft tradition. Novel welcomed us with delicious food, carefully blended herbal teas, a loving atmosphere, and a strong community spirit.

Visiting Թելիկ / Telik, a cultural enterprise providing decent work for local women through training and development of traditional handicraft industries, such as carpet-making, lace-making, and embroidery. An important part of Telik's work is reviving old handicraft techniques and stories. Hasmik, the inspiring woman behind Telik, introduced us to the history of handicrafts in the Tavsuh region, social traditions that historically revolved around the craft of carpet-making, and treated us with delicious homemade sweets.

Our first stop in the Tavush region was at the Ijevan wine-brandy factory - a great example of how culture, historical heritage, and technology work together. We had the chance to see the backstage of the wine- and brandy-making, cool cellars and large distilleries, advanced production lines, and beautiful examples of collaboration with local artists.

Moments from Gegharkunik province: visiting the Etiuni Iron Age Fortress and Etiuni Guest House, Nkugh - the gathering place of Sevan's youth club, and the famous Բոհեմ արվեստանոց-թեյարան / Bohem Studio - Teahouse - all fantastic culture-powered initiatives celebrating the rich historical heritage of the region, promoting and empowering youth and local talent.

Cultural exchange continues at Charentsavan music and art schools with a quick stop at the kindergarten. Our partners at Charentsavan turned this encounter into a mini art festival with live organ music, vocal performance, and lovely arts and crafts by local children and youth.

Exchanging culture, colors, and flavors at Masoor Art House, a unique cultural initiative dedicated to outstanding Armenian women and promoting different aspects of Armenian traditional culture from folk music and national costumes to cuisine and visual art.
