The next stop of the EVN Wine Academy students’ study trip to Georgia was Mekvevre Karaulashvili’s Marani, a family winery where tradition is not just preserved but lived every day. The founders, a warm and welcoming couple, introduced students to their unique pottery tradition and shared their personal winemaking journey in a truly intimate atmosphere.

Students explored the cellar, learned about traditional qvevri winemaking, and enjoyed a guided tasting that reflected the soul of Georgian wine culture.

Էրազմուս+ ՀԳ1 Միջազգային կրեդիտային շարժունություն ծրագրի շրջանակում ՀԱԱՀ-ն հայտարարում է 2 տեղի մրցույթ Խմորման արտադրության տեխնոլոգիա և գինեգործություն կրթական ծրագրով սովորողների համար՝ 2026-27 ուս․ տարում Գայզենհայմի համալսարանում (Գերմանիա) 10 ամսով սովորելու համար։
Մրցույթին կարող են մասնակցել առկա բակալավրիատի երկրորդ և հեռակա բակալավրիատի երկրորդ ու երրորդ կուրսերի այն ուսանողները, ովքեր տիրապետում են անգլերենին (B2) կամ գերմաներենին (B1): Խրախուսվում է հատուկ կարիքավոր ուսանողների մասնակցությունը:

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the world’s most prestigious international wine competitions, and this year it was hosted in Armenia for the first time.

For us, the proudest moment was seeing the EVN Wine Academy community at the heart of this historic event. From official judges to dedicated volunteers, our instructors and graduates played an active role in bringing one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions to Armenia. A true reflection of how EVN Wine Academy is helping shape the future of wine in Armenia and beyond.

In Armenia, the event was proudly hosted and coordinated by the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia, together with the Ministry of Economy.

Some journeys don’t just take you to places - they expand the way you understand itself.

This is exactly how the EVN Wine Academy students’ study trip to Georgia began in the heart of the region, one of the world’s oldest wine landscapes.

For EVN Wine Academy students, with their strong foundation in wine and wine business, such experiences go beyond tasting and touring. It is a crucial step in understanding wine not only within Armenia’s rich winemaking tradition but also beyond borders.

The first stop was GiuAAni Winery, where students were introduced to the connection between traditional Georgian winemaking and modern production approaches. It was a direct look at how heritage and innovation coexist in today’s wine industry.

The journey continued to Kindzmarauli Winery, located in the Kindzmarauli micro-zone of Kakheti. Here, students explored one of the region’s signature winemaking approaches - producing naturally semi-sweet wines from Saperavi, Georgia’s flagship red grape variety.

And this is just the beginning of the journey.

Some lectures don’t just share knowledge - they reshape the way you see an entire industry.

EVN Wine Academy had the honor of hosting a lecture by Prof. Dr. habil. Jon H. Hanf, Chair of International Marketing Management at Hochschule Geisenheim University.

Prof. Hanf is not only an internationally recognized expert in wine and marketing, but also one of the key figures who supported the very beginning of EVN Wine Academy.
