Last weekend, reunited over our traditional Khash party! Huge thanks to our alumna Ashkhen Tosunyan (GCHHM ’24), co-founder of Mov Restaurant, for kindly hosting us.

From being part of AUA’s first engineering cohort to his army service, Areg reflects on the experiences that shaped both his academic and personal paths. The episode also highlights AUA’s “Honoring Those Who Served” Scholarship Campaign, supporting veterans as they transition from service to education and leadership.

This impact report reflects what AUA's Veteran Scholarship Campaign made possible for our alumni and how service, support, and education come together to shape alumni journeys and futures.

🇦🇲 🪖 On National Army Day, we honor those who serve our country and the futures they help shape. Today, we are sharing the journey of Hrach Sargsyan (LL.M. ’24), an alum supported through AUA's "Honoring Those Who Served” scholarship campaign fund.

“The scholarship meant access,” Hrach shares. His story is a reminder that honoring our veterans also means investing in education, opportunity, and lasting impact.

As part of AUA's "Honoring Those Who Served” scholarship campaign, we are proud to share the story of our alumnus Yeghishe Mikayelyan (BSES ’24), supported through the fund. He is currently an aircraft designer, and his story is about service, strength, and the power of education.

If given the chance to speak to his donors, Yeghishe would keep it simple and honest: “I would say a big thank you. I would share what I am doing now, and I think they would be happy to know their support made a real difference — not just for me, but for our country.”

🔹 We are thrilled to share that our alumnus Nerses Kazarian (MEIESM ’93) has joined the AUA ChangeMakers campaign!

🔹 As a member of our first graduating cohort in 1993, Nerses witnessed and benefited from the University’s founding vision at one of the most challenging moments in Armenia’s modern history. Decades later, his decision to become an AUA ChangeMaker reflects a lifelong belief in the transformative power of education and a deep sense of gratitude toward the institution that helped shape his personal and professional path.

🙌 Last week, our alumni in gathered for a Khash Breakfast Fundraiser! They reconnected with the community in LA over delicious food, laughter, and great conversations — all while supporting AUA! $1,030 was raised through their collective efforts.

🔵 Meet Gevorg Mnacakanyan (BAEC ’18), the chief operating officer at Triple A Audio, who aims to empower Armenian talent and preserve cultural heritage through the company and its partners like Serj Tankian.

🔵 “AUA is a fantastic institution, and I am eternally grateful for the quality education I received here,” shares Gevorg. “I am lucky to have studied here and I would not be where I am today without it."
