❓ What makes feedback stick?

💡 Most feedback is heard once and forgotten. The feedback that changes behavior is the feedback that’s used.

We’ve all sat through performance reviews, sensed the nod of agreement in the room, and then... nothing changed. The information landed, but it never took root.

The most successful professionals don’t ask, “”What did they tell me?”” They ask, “”What will I do differently by Friday?””

Feedback sticks when people:

✔️ Turn it into one specific action, not a vague intention.
✔️ Revisit it within 48 hours, before it fades.
✔️ Track a “”before and after”” to see the change.
✔️ Ask a colleague to call it out if the old habit resurfaces.
✔️ Treat it as data, not a verdict on their worth.

Feedback that isn’t applied is just a comment. Feedback that’s applied becomes a skill.

❓ Do you have goals, or just wishes?

💡 A goal without a system is just a wish with a deadline.

Most people set goals the same way every year - big, vague, excit
ing for about two weeks. Then life gets busy and the goal quietly disappears. The problem usually isn’t motivation. It’s structure.
Research on goal-setting theory (Locke & Latham) found that specific, challenging goals lead to significantly higher performance than vague goals like “do your best” - because clarity gives your brain something concrete to act on.
People who actually reach their goals:
✔️ Make them specific, not vague (“read 12 books this year,” not “read more”)
✔️ Break them into weekly actions, not just yearly outcomes
✔️ Track progress instead of relying on memory
✔️ Review and adjust - instead of abandoning the goal when life shifts
✔️ Focus on the system, not just the finish line

A goal tells you where to go. A system gets you there.
