On April 28–29, the Akian College of Science and Engineering (ACSE) at the American University of Armenia hosted the joint Working Group 2 and Working Group 3 meeting of the ON-DEM COST Action — the first COST Action working group meeting held in Armenia.
The meeting brought together DEM researchers and experts from across Europe to advance key action deliverables, including a contact model database and a common file format for improved software interoperability.
Special thanks to Dr. Hrachya Kocharyan for his major contribution to the organization and implementation of the event.

📌 On April 14, we hosted the presentation on the modernization of identity management infrastructure in Armenia within a public-private partnership (PPP).
The session brought together representatives from government, industry, and academia to share insights on the development of national identity and biometric systems, and to connect with students and attendees.

🔸 From March 30 to April 1, the Armenian delegation - joined by Satenik Mnatsakanyan, BS in Engineering Sciences program chair at the American University of Armenia - took part in a study visit to France within the EU4Innovation East project, exploring leading European cybersecurity ecosystems.
The visit included meetings at Campus Cyber in Paris, engagement with key innovation actors, and participation in the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC) in Lille - Europe’s leading event on digital security and trust.
🔸 Bringing together stakeholders from government, academia, and industry, the experience provided valuable insights into innovation, investment, and legal frameworks, while fostering meaningful international connections.
This journey marks an important step toward strengthening Armenia’s cybersecurity ecosystem - and shaping a more resilient, forward-looking roadmap.

🌏 The 7th cohort of the AUA–WPI Study Abroad Program is back and already putting their experience into action.
After a seven-week academic experience at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), students, together with their peers have entered the next phase of the program, working on joint team projects that address real community needs across Armenia.
Guided by Dr. Aaron Sakulich, Associate Professor at WPI, and Norayr Ben-Ohanian, Adjunct Lecturer at the Acopian Center for the Environment, AUA, students are now engaged in WPI’s Interactive Qualifying Project ( ), a core component of the program.
Back on campus, students shared their experiences and insights with peers and the AUA community during a welcome reception.
