Last weekend, more than 30 alumni - a third - of class of 2016 returned to UWC Dilijan from around the world to reunite with classmates and staff, relive old memories, and create new ones. It was a beautiful reminder that while years may pass, the UWC spirit and lifelong friendships remain.

Successfully navigating the IB Diploma Programme is an accomplishment in its own right. For UWC Dilijan students, this achievement is amplified by the challenge of transitioning from diverse educational systems and cultures into a rigorous, shared academic experience within an international boarding community. To this end, we are pleased that our results continue to outperform the worldwide IB averages.

Elena Gallego, who has already done two rounds of teaching in our school, loves adventures. This time, as Elena was leaving Dilijan, she set out on another one - cycling from Armenia to Spain. That’s what Elena said: “I started on 26 May from Dilijan. 30 days cycling and 4 days rest, 3500km with an average of 130-150 km per day. I travelled from Genoa to Barcelona by ferry to avoid cycling in the extreme heat but I plan to return in September to complete that section and extend the route further through France and maybe Switzerland. I also took a bus into Istanbul because of the heavy traffic and because bicycles are prohibited on some of the city’s bridges.” Follow Elena’s Travel Blog to learn more about her adventures.

The students of the UWC summer programme Just Dilijan It - Attitude & Relationships Lab
have arrived, and the educational summer camp has begun.
Over the coming days, they’ll explore what it means to be human, to belong to communities, and
to coexist with people whose lives many not look like the ones of their own. Participants will
engage in hands-on projects, discussions and debate, art, sport, hiking, and many other activities.
