Despite the pandemic, we are happy to minute that the 9th International Symposium on Optics & its Applications (OPTICS-2022) devoted to the 80th birthday of Academician Eduard Ghazaryan took place in person on January 15-19, 2022 in Yerevan, Ashtarak, Armenia. 🇦🇲

✅We would like to thank all the participants of OPTICS-2022 for the fruitful discussions and together spent science full days. 🥰

On the 15-19 January 2022, The 9th International Symposium "Optics & its applications 2022" (OPTICS-2022) took place in Yerevan-Ashtarak, Armenia(http://optics2022.uni.wroc.pl/geninfo.html?fbclid=IwAR0_iIMUPuUfVwtSqPwvQjYa6LqVfdyDAjH8lKsVykJEZnPPMCnzNvKfEpQ). OSA Armenia (OPTICA YSU&NAS Armenia Student Chapter) was honored to participate in this great in-person event and contribute by inviting Prof. Etienne Brasselet from Université de Bordeaux, France. On the 17th of January Chapter's advisor Rafik Hakobyan welcomed the participants of OPTICS-2022 in ԵՊՀ Ֆիզիկայի ֆակուլտետ/YSU, Faculty of Physics . During the chapter poster session, the members of OSA Armenia shared the chapter's past activities with Prof. Brasselet. During his plenary talk, chaired by the chapter's president Gor Chalyan , Prof. Brasselet presented his research on photonic bandgap physics of anisotropic media with helical order: beyond colorful manifestations. Moreover, the chapter's member Zhirayr Adamyan presented his research during the student oral presentation session. The scientific discussions not only continued during the after-conference social dinner. Finally, the chapter again congratulates the winner of the best student presentation, co-sponsored by OPTICA YSU&NAS Armenia Student Chapter.😎

On the 11th of December, with the SPIE YSU student chapter, we have visited the N6 school in Hrazdan and demonstrated hands-on experiments with the from B-Photonics.
Special thanks to our volunteers for their enthusiasm to teach optics and photonics to school children.
