The Albanian International School is a new school with small class sizes of no more than 15 students per class. Licensed by the Albanian Ministry of Education, we are able to provide our students individual care and attention to facilitate their learning, understanding and enjoyment of the subjects taught. Our curriculum is from the United States and is called Core Knowledge. It is used in various exceptional international schools in Switzerland, England, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, Taiwan, Bahrain and Canada and over 300 schools - public, private, religious and charter- in the U.S. It is a rigorous curriculum that incorporates all of the subjects including art and music as vital to the teaching of a well rounded and well taught child. You may learn more by going to www.coreknowledge.org for more detailed information about the Core Knowledge curriculum and to see the text books and methods we use and the scientific research behind them. All our core subject teachers are native English speakers experienced in their subject matter. They have a special ability to engage their students in the subjects being taught. We work to create lifelong learners who know how to think for themselves. Students of all ages research class projects, presenting the information they found through a variety of methods. Our diverse mix of international and Albanian students learn from and with each other through respect, proper manners and concern for one another. Our facilities include a 12,000 volume library with exceptional British and American literature of all genres for all ages. We also have a very large physical education area where students can play football, basketball, tennis and volleyball. Our computer room is large enough and our class sizes small enough that each child has access to an individual computer. All of our classes have a computer Smart Board set up in the room. Our facilities have been or are being completely updated and up to top international standards.
