“Creativity takes courage.”
-Henri Matisse

To kick off the new school year, our secondary students were inspired by stained-glass windows and got creative with transparency sheets and colored markers, turning our hallway windows into a gallery of glowing art! As sunlight streams through their designs, it fills our halls with color and a little extra sparkle every time someone walks by.
A simple project with a big impact, proof that a little creativity can brighten everyone’s day.🎨

Across every division, our TIS Student Councils are coming together with one shared purpose: to be a voice for our students and help make TIS an even better place to learn, grow, and belong. We are excited to see the positive impact they will make together this year!

From the classrooms to the field, our Back to School Picnic was all about connection. 💙
Families had the opportunity to meet teachers, explore learning spaces, and enjoy an afternoon filled with food, music, and community spirit.

Captured beautifully from above, these moments remind us that TIS is more than a school, it’s a community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We can’t wait for the year ahead! 🧡

Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Back to School Picnic. It was a joy to welcome parents into our classrooms, introduce our amazing teachers, and share a glimpse into the exciting year ahead.

We loved seeing everyone come together on the field to enjoy hot dogs, ice cream, fresh fruit, great music, and even better company. ❤️

Thank you for being part of our school community. Together, we create a place where students, families, and teachers can learn, grow, and thrive. 📚✨

Our little learners have been busy settling in, exploring their new classrooms, and getting to know their teachers and friends. 💕

From messy art to singing, dancing, stories, sensory play, and so much more, there has been so much to discover and enjoy!

What a wonderful start! 🌸✨

Our young learners (ages 5-7) explored old and new technology this week, then used straw building kits to design their own inventions and innovations.

Meanwhile, our 8-10 year olds tackled digital citizenship, learning about the lasting impact of their digital footprint. To make the lesson stick, they built domino chain reactions.

The hands-on reminder reinforced that one careless moment can topple something built with real effort 💪

Creativity with a purpose! Our Tech 1 students designed and built cardboard marble mazes for our preschool learners, creating hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration, and fun. We love seeing older students using their skills to bring joy to our youngest Tigers! 🐯

The 9 YO 🐯s begin their Cultural Studies unit on sustaining natural resources by reading, The Water Princess by Susan Verde.

Students learned about Gie Gie’s daily journey of walking four miles to collect water and gained a deeper understanding of the challenges she faced.

They put themselves in Gie Gie’s shoes by experiencing what it might be like to walk a long distance under the hot sun to collect water and then carefully carry it home, being mindful to conserve it. 💧

It was a great way to analyze real-world resource scarcity by evaluating the physical challenges of water transport.

Teams worked together to carry the water, learning the power of collective effort and shared responsibility 🤝

Through this experience, students developed empathy for those who lack easy access to clean water and began to understand the importance of conserving this precious natural resource.
