📣📣Në vijim të ankesës së pedagogëve dhe nxënëseve të Institucionit Arsimor Privat Parauniversitar “Mehmet Akif Ersoy” lidhur me mbylljen e kësaj shkolle në bazë të Vendimit të Këshillit të Ministrave nr. 614, datë 22.09.2022 dhe të sqarimeve të dhëna nga Ministria e Arsimit dhe Sportit për opinionin publik me anë të rrjetit social Facebook, Komiteti Shqiptar i Helsinkit (KShH) verifikoi ankesën e mësipërme dhe dokumentacionin që ka lidhje me këtë çështje.

Nxënëse dhe mësues të shkollës sonë zhvilluan sot një takim me përfaqësues të Komitetit Shqiptar të Helsinkit.
Nxënëset dhe mësuesit shprehën shqetësimin e tyre rreth vendimit të MAS dhe Këshillit të Ministrave për mbylljen arbitrare dhe joligjore të kolegjit "Mehmet Akif".
Përfaqësuesit e Komitetit Shqiptar të Helsinkit u njohën me historikun, arritjet dhe cilësitë e shkollës, ndërkohë dhe nxënëset treguan për ndikimin që ka vendimi i dhënë, për të ardhmen e tyre universitare dhe për familjet e tyre.
Përfaqësuesit e Komitetit Shqiptar të Helsinkit shfaqën interes për ndjekjen e ecurisë ligjore të anulimit të licencës dhe u zotuan për transparencë e mbështetje ligjore.

News release on the Act of the Council of Ministers of September 22, 2022 for the closure of the non- public secondary school " Mehmet Akif " Tirana

Through the media, we were informed today about the Act of the Council of Ministers (VKM) with the objective of closing the activity of our institution without officially learning about the reasons for the decision, which primarily affects quality education in Albania.
Non-public High School "Mehmet Akif" has been part of the "Gulistan" Foundation for 26 years in Albania, meticulously implementing the country's legal framework, while carrying a great history of success as it has been consistently ranked at the top of list of the best schools.
With dozens of gold medals and hundreds more in international and national Olympiads, our school is a pride of students, parents who trusted us as well as Albania itself, making an important contribution to increasing the quality of education here.
Therefore, the responsible institutions have evaluated us as one of the bests in this sector for years.
Until now, thousands of students have been educated in our school, who today constitute the intellectual elite of the country, while we want to emphasize that in addition to this, the government's decision directly affects 159 students from all over Albania and their families as well as teachers and school support staff.
Despite our successes, love and dedication to education, today we were faced with such a decision, which in our opinion has nothing to do with education or the implementation of the laws of this country.

How did it get here?
At the end of the 2021-2022 academic year, we felt compelled to change the building, near Rruga e Kavaja in Tirana, to another one, in the area of Mëzezi/ Kashar (the former building of the "Aldent" University).
In order to turn this building into an environment worthy of our standards, we acted according to the legal provisions by notifying the Ministry of Education and also obtained permission to carry out construction work from local government institutions.
During this period, until the end of August, we have had regular inspections and correspondence with the responsible authorities and we have not encountered any problems and have not been informed of anything that is going wrong with the continuation of construction work.
On September 14 of this year, a working group of the Ministry of Education visited our school to carry out inspections on the legality of the activity.
Surprisingly, today, September 22, we were notified via mail by the Ministry of Education that our institution does not meet the criteria for the continuation of the activity.
Faced with such a decision, we are fully convinced that justice will prevail.
The Gulistan Foundation will follow all legal procedures to enable the normal continuation of the educational activity.
