Movies that Matter Film Festival 2017
The UNESCO Chair at Marin Barleti University is pleased to announce the screening of a movie concerning human rights. This event is organized as part of the Movies that Matter film festival, in the framework of International Human Rights Day (10 December), and in cooperation with the Embassy of Netherlands in Albania.
On Thursday, 7.12.2017 at 17.00, Campus 2, Selite, the UNESCO Chair will screen The Borneo Case movie:
Swiss environmental activist Bruno Manser left for Malaysia in 1984 to protest, together with the local population, against logging in the jungle of Sarawak, Borneo. In 2000, a Swedish camera crew followed him during one of his expeditions; they documented the last footage of the activist, who would disappear in May of that year.
Please check the poster for all information concerning the different screenings.

From 27 March to 5 April 2017, in the framework of the project TELESEICT, the UNESCO Chair and the Jean Monnet Chair at Marin Barleti University and 4 students from UMB participated in the Intensive Program for students and teachers at IPG - Politécnico da Guarda. During this IP, teachers and students from 11 universities across Europe discussed about the possibilities offered by information and communication technologies in teaching and learning in special needs education.
The main purpose of KA2-TELESEICT (Project Number: 2016-1-PT01-KA203-022950) it’s to raise the awareness in teacher training of the use of ICT – digital competences, when creating good learning environments for pupils in need of special support. Hence, the project will highlight the use of ICT with people with different disabilities in special educational contexts and settings, and thus allow access to ICT for almost everyone. We want to illuminate the importance of training future teachers, across Europe, in using ICT as a pedagogical tool and how technology impacts the learning process, consequently, our project will gather new tools and strategies to be used in the teaching and learning process, either inside or outside the classroom. The combination of knowledge from the 11 partners will give the necessary European dimension to the project because everyone will contribute with their experience in one specific area: Intellectual disability, Physical disability, hearing loss and deafness, vision loss and blindness, accessibility.
