OBJEKTIVAT E INSTITUTIT
Demokracia
Proceset e demokratizimit në demokracitë e reja si Shqipëria do të ishin të pamjaftueshme pa përfshirjen dhe inkurajimin e debatit dhe hulumtimit shkencor mbi aktorët politikë dhe grupet ndryshme shoqërore. IDMC synon të promovojë vlerat demokratike duke shërbyer si një Think Tank, duke inkurajuar sondimin e opinionit publik për çështje të ndryshme të polit
ikëbërjes në nivel kombëtar dhe ndërkombëtar. Si dhe përmes mbështetjes dhe motivimit të brezit të ri drejt formave të reja të pjesëmarrjes politike, duke përdorur teknologjinë, mediat e reja (Fluid Democracy) në shërbim të riforcimit të demokracisë në shek. Prandaj ajo mbështet projekte që inkurajojnë debatin mbi rolin demokratik dhe shoqëror që gazetarët dhe mediat luajnë në epokën e teknologjive të reja. Veçanërisht sot, përdorimi i teknologjive të komunikimit duhet trajtuar si një përbërës integral i zhvillimit demokratik të një vendi. Monitorimi dhe mbështetja e mediave synohet të arrihet përmes projekteve zhvillimore të medias lokale dhe qendrave kulturore periferike. Një skanim i gjendjes së medias dhe gazetarisë shqiptare do të bëhet i mundur përmes analizës së procesit të komunikimit: procedurat, normat që mundësojnë transparencën dhe llogaridhënien, të drejtën e informimit etj nga njëra anë, dhe përmes ofrimit të këshillimeve, shërbimeve dhe ekspertizës në fushat e zhvillimit të medias dhe demokracisë në bashkëpunim me institucione të specializuara, operatorë ekonomikë, profesionalë dhe agjenci publike, nga ana tjetër. Kultura & kultura e kujtesës
IDMC synon të mbështesë artin dhe kulturën, si dhe shkëmbimet kulturore në të gjitha fushat përmes promovimit të diversitetit kulturor dhe tolerancës duke shërbyer si një pikëtakim i kulturave të ndryshme në shkallë lokale dhe ndërkombëtare (cross-border). Përmbushja e këtyre objektivave synohet të arrihet përmes organizimit të aktiviteteve kulturore, festivaleve, workshop-eve që nxisin dhe inkurajojnë dialogun ndëretnik, ndërkulturor dhe ndërfetar, barazinë gjinore dhe të drejtat e njeriut. Nga ana tjetër, IDMC inkurajon aktivitetet rinore që evidentojnë kulturën e një brezi të tërë, përmes mediave të reja (kultura dixhitale), në film, art, muzikë dhe projekte sociale. Në vizionin e IDMC-së, kultura gjithashtu luan një rol bazik në debatet politike mbi forcimin e demokracisë, veçanërisht se kulturat transportojnë drejtpërdrejt kujtesën e një populli. Duke marrë si shembull Shqipërinë, ku reflektimi mbi të shkuarën e saj totalitare nuk ka zënë në këto 25 vjet vendin që meriton, IDMC ka si mision që përmes aktiviteteve sensibilizuese ta inkurajojë brezin e ri të reflektojë si mbi të shkuarën dhe të ardhmen (kultura e kujtesës kolektive dhe individuale), ashtu edhe mbi veten dhe tjetrin (fqinj, i huaji).
