Pr. Drita Kruja, Vice-Rector of the European University of Tirana (Albania) -a partner university of the SmartAL Erasmus+ project-, honored the teams of the CIHEAM Montpellier with a visit on 4 May 2022.

This visit provided opportunities for sharing ideas with Mr. Thierry Dupeuble, Director of the CIHEAM Montpellier, and Ms. Magali Maire, chargée de mission to the Director, and preparing cooperation agreements between both institutions relating to higher education, research and cooperation, but also as regards continuous training.

ERASMUS DAYS 2021
The SMARTAL project was promoted in the Projects' Fair, organized at the European University of Tirana. On Erasmus Days 2021, several promotional materials of the project were made available to the participants.

SmartAL project Final Events
The International Center for Advanced Agronomic Mediterranean Studies-Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (Ciheam - IAMM), Coordinator of the SmartAl project, is organising the Final Steering Committee of the Project, in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Tirana, the European University of Tirana and the University Fan S. Noli, Korçë and the following European Universities: Hohenheim University, Germany, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Greece and Université Paul Valéry Montpellier, France.

This meeting will take place on October 5, 2021 at the Agricultural University of Tirana, Albania.

🔹 In parallel, a Workshop on “Internationalisation of higher education: a European passport to the Albanian jobmarket?” will be organised on October 6, 2021, gathering a large panel of stakeholders: Ms Frida Krifca, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Hubert Perr, EU delegation to Albania, H.E. Elisabeth Barsacq, French Ambassador to Albania, H.E. Sofia Philippidou, Greek Ambassador to Albania, Mr Martin Karl Zickendraht, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Tirana.

🔸 About 50 persons, representing the European, national, regional and local authorities, the Higher Education Institutions, the SmartAL consortium and the Executive Master students will attend.

🔹 On the same day, a round-table will provide a useful opportunity to debate on “Internationalisation of higher education: a way to enlarge the adaptability of graduates to Albanian job market”. It will gather the Albanian Ministry of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Fatbardh Sallaku, Rector, Agricultural University of Tirana, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Selami Xhepa, President, European University of Tirana, Prof. Asc. Dr. Gjergji Mero, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University Fan S. Noli, Korçë, a representative of the Hohenheim University, a representative of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Mr Thierry Dupeuble, Director of the CIHEAM-IAMM and Ms Ada Ramaj, National Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office in Albania.
