📢 META YOUTH PROJECT'S FIRST NEWSLETTER!
We are happy to share with you the first Newsletter of the META YOUTH Project – Empowering youth awareness on the metaverse and metaverse gaming project, co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme (KA220-YOU).
🤝 6 partners from 4 countries (Greece, Albania, Cyprus, Italy) are collaborating to strengthen digital skills and educate young people and educators about the metaverse.
🇮🇹 In March 2026, the Kick-off Meeting was successfully held in Rome, where the project structure, work packages, and next steps were discussed.
🔍 Research activities are currently underway across 4 countries, which will contribute to the development of educational resources and new learning tools.

NETWORKING FORUM @ Career Fair 2026 ✨🌍
The META YOUTH Project was proud to participate in the Career Fair at the European University of Tirana, bringing together young talents, professionals, innovators, and future changemakers.
Through networking, collaboration, and inspiring conversations, we explored new opportunities for youth empowerment, digital innovation, and international cooperation. 🤝

🍀 WARP Project – 3rd International Meeting in Athens
The WARP Project consortium successfully gathered in Athens, Greece, for its 3rd International Meeting, hosted by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Over two productive days, partners reviewed project progress, discussed equipment procurement, advanced the development of the Virtual Collaboration and Training Space, planned upcoming capacity-building activities, and coordinated the next steps for dissemination, mentoring, and educational resources.
A sincere thank you to NTUA for hosting the meeting and to all partners for their valuable contributions and commitment to the project's success.

🇦🇱 The Center for Education and Development (CED), as the official partner of the Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI) in Albania, is participating in the EFI Country Partner Meeting 2026, taking place in Prague, Czech Republic.
The meeting brings together EFI partners from across Europe to review the achievements of 2026, exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, and discuss priorities for 2027.
Key topics include:
✅ Reviewing 2026 outcomes and lessons learned
✅ Sharing best practices and country experiences
✅ Strengthening partnerships across the EFI network
✅ Enhancing communication and stakeholder engagement
✅ Identifying opportunities and priorities for 2027

The first Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) under the LEAD Project was officially organized this week in beautiful Chania, Crete, hosted by Hellenic Mediterranean University! 🇬🇷🇪🇺
The programme brought together academic and professional staff from partner institutions for a series of inspiring sessions focused on leadership, critical thinking, inclusive collaboration, intercultural communication 🌍, internationalization of higher education 🎓, AI and cybersecurity challenges 🔐, student engagement 👨🎓, and global partnerships in academia. 🌐📚
A wonderful opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen international cooperation 🤝, and explore innovative approaches for the future of higher education and leadership development. 🚀

🎓 Formal Rectors’ Recognition Ceremony
On 15 May, the University of New York Tirana (UNYT) hosted the Formal Recognition Ceremony for the newly developed and revised modules within the framework of the GITEKA – Green Industrial Transformation through Education in Kosovo and Albania project.
The ceremony brought together academic leaders from the partner institutions, who officially recognized and endorsed the newly developed curricula designed to advance green transformation, innovation, and sustainability in higher education.
The European University of Tirana (UET) was represented by Dr. Agim Kasaj, Vice Rector of UET, reaffirming UET’s commitment to strengthening academic cooperation and contributing to education aligned with regional and European priorities.

🌍✨ The SacredTravels4Growth consortium gathered in Malta for an inspiring study visit hosted by University of Malta, bringing together academics and experts to explore the intersection of religious tourism, sustainability, heritage, and higher education.
Over four intensive days, partners engaged in lectures, ThinkTank discussions, field visits, and reflections focused on how religious tourism can contribute to sustainable development and innovative learning approaches in higher education. Topics ranged from digital technologies in religious tourism (AR/VR, GIS), pilgrimage and cultural heritage interpretation, contested religious heritage, and slow tourism, to research methodologies and MOOC development.
The programme included academic sessions and field visits across some of Malta’s most important heritage and pilgrimage sites, including Birgu, St John's Co-Cathedral, the Inquisitor's Palace, and the prehistoric temples of Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra.
A sincere thank you to our hosts, especially Dr. Dane Munro and Dr. Noel Buttigieg, for the excellent organisation, insightful discussions, and warm hospitality throughout the visit.
The SacredTravels4Growth project continues to strengthen international collaboration and contribute to the development of sustainable and innovative approaches to religious tourism education and research across Europe.
