The Department of Law at the University of New York Tirana organized the Dissemination Webinar on Second-Generation Migration and Albanian Diaspora Mobility.
The webinar presented the research findings of the project βThe Albanian Diaspora on the Move? Second-Generation Return and Onward Mobilities,β developed within the Research Expertise from the Academic Diaspora initiative and funded by the Albanian-American Development Foundation through the READ Albania programme.
The event brought together researchers and project representatives to examine the experiences, decisions, and mobility patterns of second-generation Albanians, while exploring their relationship with Albania and the wider diaspora.
Dr. Andrea Mazelliu from the UNYT Department of Law opened the webinar with an overview of the project activities. Enrik Keco, Project Manager at AADF and READ Albania, shared remarks from the perspective of the funding and coordinating institution.
The research findings were presented by Associate Professor Dr. Eda Gemi, Chair of the Department of Law at UNYT, and Dr. Zana Vathi, Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Social Science in the 21st Century at University College Cork, who contributed her expertise on diaspora and second-generation migration.
The webinar created a valuable platform for academic dialogue, research dissemination, and a deeper understanding of the evolving connections between Albania and its diaspora.
