Today my breakfast taught me what perfection actually feels like.
Sometimes we only notice the beauty of a moment
when something is missing from it.
This morning I prepared my usual breakfast/brunch.
A slow ritual I’ve created for myself over the past months.
Same movements.
Same rhythm.
Same quiet presence.
Preparing it.
Eating it.
Cleaning the kitchen after.
No distractions.
Just me closing my morning routine and preparing for the second part of my day.
But today… two ingredients were missing.
And suddenly I noticed something.
My breakfast did not taste the same.
Not “bad."
Just different enough for me to realize how deeply fulfilling this ritual actually is for me.
What I call perfection is not flawless.
It is fulfillment.
It is that feeling of: “I feel good here.” “I feel complete in this moment.”
And maybe this is why contrast exists sometimes.
Not to punish us.
Not to take joy away.
But to help us notice the quiet things we have stopped consciously appreciating.
The rituals.
The peace.
The safety.
The moments that became so natural to us that we forgot they are beautiful too.
Today my breakfast reminded me: a meaningful life is often built inside the simplest repeated moments .
What simple ritual in your life quietly makes you feel fulfilled?
