Two inspiring workshop days in Tirana have successfully come to an end!
On 16–17 June 2026, the Albania–Austria Round Table on Youth Guarantee, Youth Coaching and Employment Counselling took place in Tirana, bringing together experts and institutions from Albania 🇦🇱 and Austria 🇦🇹 for an intensive exchange on youth employment, counselling, coaching, and integrated support services. 🤝
The workshop was jointly organised by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of the Republic of Austria 🇦🇹, AKPA – the National Agency for Employment and Skills of Albania 🇦🇱, and OeAD – Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation 🇦🇹.
We warmly thank all participating institutions for their cooperation, valuable contributions, and active engagement throughout the two days. 🤝🇦🇱🇦🇹
Special thanks go to H.E. Ms Monika Zach, Ambassador of Austria to Albania 🇦🇹🇦🇱, and Mr Klevis Hysa, General Director of AKPA – the National Agency for Employment and Skills of Albania 🇦🇱, for their opening remarks and for underlining the importance of cooperation between Albania 🇦🇱 and Austria 🇦🇹 in supporting young people on their path to education, training, and employment. 🎤✨
The discussions on the implementation of the Youth Guarantee, activation strategies for NEET youth, cooperation with schools, universities, employers, institutions and services, as well as access to social and health support, provided valuable insights and concrete ideas for the next steps. 💡

Girls’ Day 2026 📸 | Empowering futures, one opportunity at a time ✨
From a modest beginning in 2022 to a nationwide movement today, in continues to open doors for girls and young women in vocational education and training. This year marks the 5th consecutive edition, with 28 out of 30 VET schools across the country taking part — a powerful sign of progress and growing impact.
📍 Today’s moments come from Shkolla e Mesme Profesionale Hoteleri - Turizëm // Shkolla Hoteleriturizem, where talent, creativity, and ambition took center stage. Under the guidance of Director Elona Qehajaj, students showcased their skills in the inspiring competition “Fuqizimi i Vajzave përmes Kreativitetit dhe Mikpritjes” — proving that passion and professionalism go hand in hand. 👩🍳✨
Girls’ Day is more than an event — it’s a movement. Thanks to the continued support of OeAD Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalisation and dedicated partners, more girls are choosing VET pathways, as Austrian expert Elke Szalai revealed, with some schools reaching over 35% female participation. Step by step, we are building confidence, expanding horizons, and creating real opportunities. 💡💪
A special thank you to all the inspiring women and partners who make this possible, including H.E. Monika Zach Ambassador of the Österreichische Botschaft Tirana/Ambasada Austriake Tiranë, Jonida Lika from Agjencia Kombetare e Punesimit dhe Aftesive, and everyone working to support the next generation of skilled, empowered young women. 🌍
Stay tuned — our next post will celebrate all participating schools across Albania who made Girls’ Day 2026 unforgettable! 💛
