GIO Tutoring Centre / GIO Math has been catering to the needs of Antigua for over 16 years via our mathematics classes, and events such as our annual Black History Month Program. This portal focuses on the GIO Tutoring Centre's Math Department, called GIO Math, provides Mathematics Classes for 1st to 5th formers, and adults who wish to write CXC Mathemematics examinations, in January or May/June.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Sharlene Warner Samuel has been teaching for over 35 years. She is currently a 5th grade teacher at the Sunnyside Tutorial School but her teaching career spans many schools including Antigua Pilgrim Holiness, Clare Hall Secondary, and Princess Margaret. At Princess Margaret School, she was the head of the Mathematics Department. She has been involved in youth work since her youth and recently received a Lifetime Service Award for Youth Work. She is a member of the 5th Antigua Boys' Brigade in Parham and a former member of the 6th Antigua Boys' Brigade company which is attached to the Ebenezer Methodist Church. Sharlene served her community as secretary and assistant secretary for the executive of the Industrial School for the Blind, executive member for the Parham Improvement Co-operative Society, and director of Junior and Senior choirs at Parham Methodist Church. She also writes and performs at various functions and organised a Black History Month programme entitled "An Evening with Sharlene" from 2005 to 2009.
