As time went by, the group expanded in numbers, including dancers from other Christian denominations. Currently, there are over one hundred members in the group with levels
from beginner to advanced classes, ages ranging from 2 1/2 years to
over 40. Various dance techniques are taught including basic ballet,
contemporary modern, street jazz and afro-caribbean. Their belief as a dance group stems f
rom one common source that God
given talents should first and foremost be used to glorify and give God
thanks, acknowledging that “he is the author and finisher of all our faiths”. Verity’s main goal as a dance group is to spread the gospel of Jesus
Christ through dance. The group has opened its doors to all youth
interested in learning the art form, with the hope of enhancing their
creativity and contributing to our cultural society. Some members of
the group have been afforded the opportunity to travel to various
islands, including Dominica, St. Kitts and Grenada enabling them to
further put into action this mission, maintaining that Jesus Christ is
definitely “the way, the TRUTH and the life”, hence the name “Verity”
which means truth.
